A small workplace issue can cost you before anyone notices.

When an adjustment, communication need or accessibility barrier goes unaddressed, misunderstandings can grow into performance concerns. That can affect your confidence, training and job security, even when the real issue is that the right support was never discussed.

You have workplace rights, including the right to raise support needs and request reasonable adjustments. Keep a private record of barriers, conversations and agreed supports. It can help you ask for a review early, before the situation escalates.

Knowing your rights early can help you speak up with confidence. Enquire Now or Check your eligibility for tailored support.

How we turn “I don’t have much experience” into a resume employers can act on:

We start with the job ad and choose one task the role requires. Then we build a simple evidence block:

I did, the task you completed
I used, the skills, tools or knowledge involved
I achieved, the result, improvement or outcome

School projects, volunteering and training activities all count. The key is showing what you can do in a way employers can spot quickly.

Our tailored employment support helps young people with disabilities identify their strengths and present them with confidence.

Are you treating every workplace mistake as proof you’re not coping?

Sustaining employment success does not mean getting everything right, all the time. When something goes wrong, try a simple repair script: acknowledge what happened, name the barrier, such as unclear instructions or fatigue, then suggest one practical next step with your supervisor. A personalised job coach can help you practise these words, build confidence and handle workplace challenges.

Stop treating “soft skills” like personality.

Waiting until you’re stressed to speak up isn’t a character trait, it’s a default habit. And employers don’t just hire what you can do. They watch how clearly you communicate when you’re busy.

Before each task, we practise one calm, disability-inclusive check-in phrase, like: “I’m going to follow the steps, if anything changes, I’ll let you know.”

That simple start helps employers see reliability alongside the hard-skill work. It also reduces the guessing for everyone on the team, so you can focus on doing the job well.

“Finding a job after school” isn’t just harder for young people with disabilities, it’s missing the right supports.

We see it when school finishes and suddenly everything is expected to fall into place. The NDIS School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) is designed to guide eligible students through the transition with free, tailored employment support, then build real confidence for finding and keeping work.

Our SLES includes an eligibility check (via the form on our page). If you meet the criteria, we’ll help you get started.

You left school thinking you’d “figure it out”… but missed the SLES eligibility check.

That’s the hidden problem. If you’re worried about anxiety, low self-esteem, or fear of rejection when job hunting, the free School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) pathway could have helped you step into work placement support with tailored guidance.

We see too many young people lose time because they didn’t check eligibility before moving on from school. If it’s still within reach, don’t wait.

Check your eligibility for NDIS School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) with our “Check My Eligibility” form, Check your eligibility today.

“I thought I was the only one who didn’t know what to say at interviews.”
That’s a call we hear a lot from school leavers with disabilities. It’s heavy. And it’s fixable.

Here’s how we get you into real jobs through our School Leaver Employment Supports (SLES) program: you complete the eligibility form, then we work with you on tailored guidance, practical tools, and steady encouragement for the transition to work.

SLES is free for eligible young people under government support.

Last 30 days: 6 small “clarity gaps” turned into performance talk, until we fixed the process.

Here’s our 2-step rule before you ever fall behind:
1) Ask for a one-line “If/Then” instruction for your task (If it’s unclear → I confirm X).
2) End every shift with a 3-bullet recap to your supervisor: what you completed, what’s waiting on approval, and what support you need tomorrow.

That’s how small issues stop sn*******ng, and how confidence stays steady, even when the workplace gets messy.

If you want job coaching that helps you keep supports in place long-term, Enquire Now or Check your eligibility.

Are you “formatting your way” to a great first impression, then watching employers scroll past your best evidence?

We see it a lot: resumes packed with paragraphs of duties, no clear proof. If you’re a youth job-seeker, your resume should be built so capability is obvious in seconds.

Next Gen Youth Employment recommends a 1-page layout where every job-relevant skill is backed by one specific example (school, volunteering, or training), written as:
Action → Support strategy → Result

That way, employers don’t have to guess what you can do.
