Meet the team ✨ This year, we’re introducing the faces behind Allison Monkhouse, starting with our amazing Brand Manager, Adam!

Adam has worked in the funeral industry for over 25 years, including roles as a Funeral Supervisor at both Springvale Botanical Cemetery and Bunurong Memorial Park, and more recently as Brand Manager at Rosebud Funerals. A highlight of this time was receiving the Chairman’s Award in 2018 for consistently displaying organisational values. His experience has been shaped by working in environments that serve many cultures and religious backgrounds. Through this, Adam has developed diverse skills to accommodate a wide range of situations, always guided by compassion and understanding.

Guiding families through the arrangement of a funeral is deeply meaningful work for Adam. Knowing he is making a difference at such a difficult time, and caring for their loved one, is a true privilege and honour. Hearing people’s life stories offers a small glimpse into who they were and is something he never takes for granted.
Working at Allison Monkhouse is a constant reminder to Adam of how fragile life can be and the importance of appreciating each day. While aspects of the role can be challenging, there is immense satisfaction in helping families through their grief and supporting them during loss.

Adam loves this profession. It has taught him many valuable lessons, and he is grateful every day to work alongside a team that shares the same values. The team at Allison Monkhouse is dedicated to guiding and comforting those who are grieving, and to Adam, this is one of the purest and most meaningful gifts a person can receive.

We had the greatest honour of gifting local legend Police veteran former Sergeant Ivan George "Bill" Warner OAM a bright royal blue Ever Rose to celebrate his 100th Birthday.✨🎂 💙🌹🫶🏻✨

The room was filled with awe as everyone attentively listened to all the amazing speeches commemorating Bill on his incredible career achievements, brief life history and for reaching a lifetime milestone. The level of astute Bill displayed during his speeches was nothing short of amazing as family, friends and special guests from parliament along with Channel 7 news were left impressed and inspired. A true legacy built upon multiple decades of devotion to the community,

Bill was named a Living Treasure to the City of Greater Dandenong for all his incredible civic and voluntary service to the community and has a reserved named after him "The Warner Reserve" in Furnew Street, Springvale. In Bill's early life, he studied as an engineer and eventually joined Victoria Police at the age of 25 in 1951. With a colourful career paired with his lived experience working in the community, he gained insight and wisdom which lead him to serve for 33 years in the force. In 1971 he received the Queen's Police Medal and Bill retired in 1983, recognized for his leadership & devotion towards the community by receiving the Chief Commissioner's Certificate for sustained, outstanding and loyal service.

Outside of his career, he was elected a councillor for the City of Springvale in 1969 and was mayor three times in 1972, 1975 and 1981. Renowned for his youth work and awarded for Distinguished Service to the Scout Movement in 1984, the same year he received a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for service to local government and the community. In 1993, Bill was named Citizen of the Year for his extensive service to Springvale (now Greater Dandenong) and in 2001 Bill was awarded a Certificate of Appreciation during the International Year of Volunteers. Bill is the only living recipient of Freemasons Victoria Hall of Fame, he founded 11 different Masonic Lodges and served as Worshipful Master of Spring Vale Lodge 389 for 2 years and received his 75th year jewel in 2024.

These honourary mentions are only a small percentage of a very long list of lifetime achievements. Bill's profound impact and charitable nature continues to inspire all the different community networks that he has graced.

A big shout out to police veteran Alan Salter, CEO of Police Veterans Victoria Debra Richardson and Carla Deale for organising a wonderful ceremony and morning tea to honour a very special local living legend.

Happy 100th Birthday Bill!
