Cooking support doesn’t have to mean someone else makes the whole thing for you.

You might want a hand choosing a recipe, making a shopping list, measuring ingredients or keeping track of the steps. Or you might enjoy the cooking and want help with the washing-up afterwards.

A useful place to start: choose one thing you want to make, then work out which parts you want to do yourself and where you’d like a hand. That can change from day to day.

Lechel and Noah provide food-prep support, and offer free meet and greets too 😊

You don’t have to join an art class to make room for art in your week.

Maybe you’d rather paint at your own desk. Maybe you’d like company taking your sketchbook outside. A support worker can help with the practical parts: gathering supplies, setting up, getting to a place you choose and packing away.

If starting feels difficult, you could choose just one step for the day: pick the colours, open the sketchbook or get the materials ready. You get a say in how much help you want.

Arts & crafts are supports Ash and Anna provide. If that sounds like your kind of support, we offer free meet and greets 😊

Want to try ice skating, but getting there and figuring out the rink feels like a lot?

The support can start before you get on the ice: planning the trip, checking what you need to bring and talking through what the session will look like. At the rink, you can take breaks or decide that watching is enough for today.

ThriveDAS has independent support workers with international skating experience. Tell us what you’d like help with and we can discuss a suitable match and what’s practical for you. 😊

Meet Anna :)

Not every young person wants loud activities or constant social interaction.

Some just want someone patient to sit beside them while they:
- play Minecraft or Roblox
- draw or do craft
- talk about their favourite books
- listen to music
- get out of the house at their own pace

Anna uses these activities to reinforce healthy lifestyles and simulate social interactions.

She is completing her third year a Bachelor of Social Work and has lived and professional experience supporting children and teenagers with autism/ADHD/PDA. She's calm, kind and understands that feeling comfortable comes before progress happens.

If your child has struggled to connect with support workers in the past, Anna does free meet and greets :)
