MICHELE UPDATE 💖💖
It's been just short a few weeks since we concluded our campaign to raise vital funds for extended SRS family member Michele Dichiera, with more than $51,000 rasied to help the 12-year-old battle giant cell angioblastoma by accessing a trial medication Cabozantinib.
We received this message from Michele's mum Raschelle, and wanted to share it with our community, who supported the cause in the most heart-warming way possible.
"Just over a week ago, we travelled to Melbourne to see Michele’s oncologist. After successfully getting through the medication screening process and weaning off another medication, we were finally given the go-ahead to start Cabozantinib.
"We are incredibly grateful that this has given us a chance to treat Michele’s tumour and, hopefully, see some positive changes for him. We’ll monitor him closely, take things one day at a time, and keep everything crossed for the best possible outcome.
"He is feeling happy, hopeful and positive! Please send our beautiful boy all your healing vibes, positive thoughts and prayers. We also want to say a huge thank you to every single person who has taken the time to set up amazing fundraising events, donated towards Michele’s treatment, spoiled him, sent messages and well wishes, or simply been there for us along the way.
