We're Growing at CTM Care – Welcome (Olivia) - Liv!

As CTM Care grows, so do the services we can offer our community.

When I started CTM Care, our focus was on Capacity Building and Employment Assistance—helping people build confidence, develop life skills, and find meaningful employment. As we've grown, we've listened to our participants, families and support coordinators, and we kept hearing the same thing… there was a need for more personalised support.

That's why we've decided to introduce 1:1 Support Work.

This isn't replacing what we already do—it's complementing the services we already provide. Capacity Building and Employment Assistance will always be at the heart of CTM Care, but we now have the ability to support people in more areas of their lives while continuing to focus on independence, confidence and achieving individual goals.

Our idea of support has always been pretty simple. We don't want it to feel clinical or like you're just another participant. We want it to feel like you've got someone in your corner.

Need someone around to grab a coffee with, head to the gym, go shopping, try a new hobby, attend an event, or simply get out into the community? Sometimes all it takes is having someone beside you to do the things you don't quite feel confident doing on your own.

Or maybe you just need another person to talk things through with. Someone who'll listen without judgement, have a laugh with you, help you navigate life's ups and downs, and simply be another human in your corner,not because they're a professional with all the answers, but because sometimes all you need is someone who genuinely listens and cares.

Everyone on our team brings different strengths, personalities and life experiences, so we can find the right fit for each individual. We believe great support starts with genuine connections.

Please welcome Liv to the CTM Care team!

Liv joins us as a Support Worker with a background in childcare, aged care and community sport. She has a genuine passion for helping people build confidence, reach their goals and celebrate the little wins along the way. Her caring nature, creativity and positive attitude make her a wonderful addition to our growing team.

A little more about Liv...

When she's not supporting participants, you'll probably find her:

-Helping out on the family farm with the animals and taking on whatever new project comes along.(she currently has two baby goats that keep her up all night)

- At home in her pyjamas with some comfort food, rewatching the same TV series for the third (or fourth!) time.

-Singing way too loudly in the car.(have whitnessded this myself)

We're really excited to have Liv on board and can't wait for our participants to get to know her.

It's funny how the smallest things can make the biggest difference.
For almost a year, this Rubik's Cube sat on our office table. Everyone had a crack at it at some stage, but no one could ever solve it.
Then one day we walked in... and it was complete.
No note. No confession. Just a perfectly solved Rubik's Cube.
We still have absolutely no idea who did it, but if you're reading this... thank you. You gave our team a smile, sparked plenty of laughs, and reminded us that sometimes it's the little things that brighten your day.

Now for the big question...

How long did it take you ?
Do we leave it solved, or scramble it again?

(And if you were the mystery Rubik's Cube genius... we're still waiting for you to own up! 😂)

Mildura Community – I need your help!

I’m desperately trying to find a Christmas sweater/jumper for a 17-year-old boy who has a Kmart Christmas catalogue casting coming up very soon.

Happy to buy or borrow one if anyone has one tucked away! Looking for a Men’s Small or Medium (or similar teenage size).

Today we received these beautiful flowers from the mum of one of our participants as a thank you for the support CTM Care has provided.

While the flowers are lovely, it’s the message behind them that means the most. Knowing that a family feels supported, heard, and hopeful is exactly why we do what we do.

DO YOU NEED A RICHIE?

NEED A MALE MENTOR WHO GETS IT?

Not everyone learns by sitting in a classroom.

Some people learn by getting out into the community, exploring their interests, having real conversations, and building confidence through experience.

That's where Richie comes in.

Known as "The King of Banter and Boundaries," Richie is CTM Care's male mentor who knows how to have a laugh while still helping participants stay focused on their goals.

Before joining CTM Care, Richie managed several large citrus packing sheds across the Sunraysia region, leading teams, training staff, implementing new technologies, and making sure operations ran smoothly every single day.

What does that mean for participants?
It means Richie understands what employers are actually looking for.
It means he knows how workplaces operate.

Richie is there to walk beside you every step of the way.

What Richie enjoys most is watching participants grow in confidence, overcome challenges and achieve goals they once thought were out of reach. His mentoring style is practical, hands-on and focused on building trust first.

-No classrooms.
-No boring worksheets.
-No one-size-fits-all programs.

Just real-world mentoring, genuine support, and someone in your corner who wants to see you succeed.

A few things we've learnt about Richie so far...

1. If Geelong is playing, he'll somehow find a way to bring it into conversation. (if its a win )

2. If there's a UFC event on the weekend, expect a full breakdown by Monday morning... whether you asked for it or not.

3. He's always up for a coffee, a laugh, a crazy story, or checking out a new workplace opportunity.

4. When he's not mentoring, you'll usually find him spending time with his kids and family or heading to thr river to camp.

😆 He has a soft spot for participants with BIG personalities but loves to see his shy participants shine!

Worksheets? Not really his thing.

Real-life experiences? That's where Richie shines.

Because confidence isn't built sitting behind a desk or paperwork.

It's built through relationships, experiences, small wins, and having someone who genuinely believes in you.

Good news story incoming 👇

One of our legends has just secured full-time independence

But this didn’t happen overnight…

When he was first referred to us, engagement was a huge challenge.
We had the bedroomdoor shut on us three times.

“I can do it myself. I don’t need help.”

Richie looked at me like… what have we got ourselves into here?

By the fourth attempt, Richie said,
“I’m just going to go — if he shuts the door again, we’ll leave it there.”

Something changed that day.
Maybe the stars aligned… or maybe it was because I wasn’t there
(apparently I come in like a policewoman with my laptop ready to achieve goals straight away).

But Richie got a foot in the door.

Another amazing support worker from another amazing provider helped bring him down to the river to meet — and I remember thinking,
what are you going to achieve at the river? That’s not what we do…

Richie just said, trust me.

And that small moment of connection?
That was everything.

What started as a tiny bit of engagement turned into a genuine brotherhood.

Fast forward to now 👇
✔️ Engaging twice per week- reaches out when he needs help with anything
✔️ Living independently
✔️ Learner’s licence achieved
✔️ On the DSP
✔️ Budget under control
✔️ And now…FULLY INDEPENDENT

This is what people don’t always see.

It’s not just about goals and plans —
it’s about patience, trust, and meeting someone where they’re at.

Sometimes it’s not about doing things the way we know ....
sometimes it’s about sitting by the river and just being human.

Another great step forward for our participants 👏

This week, we had the opportunity to meet with Kristy &Nicole from Acclaimed Workforce — and it was such a positive conversation.

At CTM Care, a lot of what we do happens behind the scenes. We’re constantly building relationships with employers and employment providers to create real pathways for the young people we support.

It was great to sit down, share what we do, and also learn more about how Acclaimed Workforce supports people into employment. They have traditionally been known for their grape and vineyard work, but it was fantastic to hear they are now expanding into a range of different industries. With their business currently in a rebuild and growth phase, it’s exciting to see the direction they are heading.

We’re looking forward to working together and exploring how we can support participants who are job-ready, as well as those needing extra support like interview practice and confidence building.

Meet Chels
Founder of CTM Care

CTM Care wasn’t created from a business idea… it came from years of experience and knowing things could be done better.

Hi, I’m Chels — Chelsea when I’m in trouble — and I started CTM Care because I was seeing too many people with incredible potential being overlooked simply because they didn’t “fit the box” or have the “right amount” of NDIS funding.

I’ve worked in employment services for many years, supporting young people and families to build confidence, develop real-life skills, and move toward meaningful employment. I can’t even explain the satisfaction I feel when I see someone grow, believe in themselves, and achieve something they once thought wasn’t possible.

Along the way, I realised something was missing support that was genuine, personalised, and focused on long-term outcomes. Not the amount of funding or level of disability.

That’s why I created CTM Care.

At CTM, everything we do is built around the right kind of support not just filling hours. Whether it’s building independence, preparing for a first job, exploring education pathways, helping with understanding documents, helping you acheive your learners licence or simply gaining confidence, everything is tailored to the individual.

I’m also very intentional about the team I build. The staff at CTM Care are carefully chosen for their values, patience, and genuine care, because the right support person can make all the difference.

We won’t baby you or treat you like a child, and we won’t just agree for the sake of it. We believe in honest conversations, respecting your voice, and taking the time to understand your perspective.

We often get told we have very “normie” brains — and honestly, we love that.

With my background, I also support families to navigate Centrelink, Disability Support Pension applications, pathways into education and training, and realistic employment opportunities.

I’ve seen firsthand how one opportunity can change everything and that’s what drives me every day.

Just have a chat with me — you’ll hear the passion in my voice and my face light up.
Because to me, disability or no disability, everyone deserves to be seen, valued, and given the same opportunities — no exceptions.
