Thinking about using a Labour TENS during birth? 💚

A Labour TENS machine is a simple, drug-free form of pain relief that can be used during the early stages of labour. By sending gentle electrical pulses through pads placed on your back, it can help reduce pain, encourage your body’s natural endorphin release, and provide a practical way to manage contractions.

You can easily adjust the intensity as your labour progresses, allowing the machine to work with you as your needs change.

Planning ahead? We hire Labour TENS machines directly through our clinic, so you can collect one before your due date and have it ready when labour begins.

If you’re not sure whether a Labour TENS is right for you, chat to our team we’re always happy to answer your questions💚

Have you heard of a Neuromuscular TENS machine?

Unlike a Labour TENS, an NMES TENS is used to help treat pelvic floor conditions. Depending on your individual needs, treatment can be delivered using a vaginal or a**l probe, or with external electrodes placed on your skin.

The best part? We also hire these machines out through our clinic, making it easy to continue your treatment from the comfort of home as part of your physiotherapist’s treatment plan.

If you’re experiencing bladder leakage, urgency, or other pelvic floor concerns, our Women’s Health Physiotherapists can assess whether an NMES TENS is right for you.

Here are 3 signs you may benefit from a pelvic health assessment: 💚

✨You experience pelvic heaviness or pressure.
✨You’re struggling pelvic pain and intimacy concerns.

These symptoms are common, but they aren’t something you have to simply “put up with.”

Running with prolapse and noticing heaviness partway through? 🏃‍♀️
It doesn’t always mean you need to stop.

Sometimes a few small tweaks can help, like temporarily shortening your runs, adding walk breaks, slowing the pace, increasing your cadence slightly or choosing flatter terrain.

The goal isn’t to avoid movement. It’s to find a level your pelvic floor can comfortably manage, then gradually build from there 💚
