Itβs easy to ask, βR U OK?β The harder part can be making space for the real answer. π
This R U OK? Day, take the time to check in with the people around you and ask how theyβre really going.
Give them time to answer. Listen without judgement. And remember, they may not be ready to talk the first time you ask.
Sometimes, checking in again tomorrow, next week or whenever it feels right can help keep the conversation open and remind someone that youβre still there.
And if youβre the one who needs support, you donβt have to wait until things feel overwhelming to start a conversation. Your GP can be a starting point to discuss how youβve been feeling and explore support options that may be appropriate for you.
π Mittagong Doctors bulk bills patients with a valid Medicare card. Private fees may apply for patients without Medicare eligibility.
The first question can open the door. The follow-up can help keep it open.
Keep checking in. π
