🇳🇵 Our thoughts are with Nepal

CIRN stands with the people of Nepal following the devastating floods and loss of life across the Himalayan region.

We recognise the strong Nepalese community in the Southern Highlands and across Australia, many of whom may be worried about family, friends and loved ones affected by this tragedy.

To everyone grieving, waiting for news, helping others, or beginning the journey of recovery, you are in our thoughts.

Sending strength, compassion and hope to Nepal and to Nepalese communities everywhere. 🖤💛🇳🇵

Our Southern Highlands community is grieving 💔

Our thoughts are with Lily Hooper’s family, friends and loved ones following the heartbreaking news of her death.

We also want to acknowledge the many police, emergency service personnel, search and rescue teams and volunteers who gave so much of themselves over the past eight days in the search for Lily.

The impact of a tragedy like this reaches far beyond those directly involved. Our community may be feeling sadness, shock, helplessness or simply a sense of heaviness.

Please be gentle with yourselves and with one another in the days ahead.

To Lily’s family and friends, we extend our deepest condolences. 🕊️
To everyone who searched, responded and supported: thank you.

✨ One week since DEMC26 ✨

What an incredible few days on the Gold Coast.

From late flights ✈️ to standing on stage 📣 and connecting with emergency management professionals from across Australia and New Zealand, we’re still reflecting on the conversations and inspiration from .

We were honoured to present our work on early mental health intervention, exploring how stabilisation approaches may help support people in the immediate aftermath of challenging events.

The biggest takeaway? There is a growing commitment across the sector to prioritise the wellbeing of the people who dedicate themselves to helping others.

Thank you to everyone who attended our workshop, asked questions, shared experiences, and helped make the experience so memorable.

Here’s a glimpse back at the journey, the conference, and the people who made it special. 📸
