Have you ever been told that everything looks "normal", yet you still feel like something isn't quite right for your child?

Many families navigating challenges such as fatigue, dizziness, sleep difficulties, digestive concerns, sensory overwhelm or difficulties regulating emotions can find themselves searching for answers.

One condition that is becoming increasingly recognised is dysautonomia, which affects the autonomic nervous system, the part of the nervous system responsible for many of the body's automatic functions.

In our latest blog, we explore what dysautonomia is, some of the common signs and symptoms, and why understanding the nervous system can be an important part of the conversation.

Have you ever felt like your child's challenges are all connected, but you're not quite sure how?

Maybe you're navigating sleep struggles, sensory overwhelm, big emotions, difficulties with focus and attention, and that constant feeling that they're stuck in survival mode.

At Restore, we often talk about something called The Perfect Storm.

The Perfect Storm is a way of understanding how experiences throughout pregnancy, birth, infancy and childhood may influence a child's developing nervous system and their ability to adapt to stress.

It's not about finding one cause or placing blame, it's about looking at the bigger picture and understanding your child's unique story.

The Perfect Storm offers a different way of looking at a child's story. Rather than focusing on one event or one explanation, it explores how experiences throughout pregnancy, birth and early childhood may influence the way a developing nervous system adapts to stress.

For many families, this conversation brings relief. Not because it provides a simple answer, but because it helps them see that their child's journey is often much bigger than a single moment in time.

If you're raising a child with ADHD, Autism, sensory challenges, emotional dysregulation or focus difficulties, and you've ever wished someone would help you connect the dots, this workshop is for you.

Some of the recent wins our practice members have shared with us 🫶

From better sleep and easier digestion to improved focus, movement and emotional regulation, we're always encouraged to hear how a more regulated nervous system can support everyday life.

Every person's experience is unique, but we love celebrating these positive changes along the way.

Winter is only a few days away, and many families are starting to notice shifts in sleep, emotions, energy, and overall regulation.

Cooler mornings, less sunlight, more sickness around, and changing routines can leave little bodies feeling more overwhelmed and unsettled through winter 🤎

This is your reminder to slow things down where you can and come back to the simple foundations that help your child feel more rested, supported, and regulated.

Save this post to come back to during the winter season or share it with another parent who might need the reminder!

Ever wondered why some children seem to struggle more with sleep, emotions, focus, behaviour, sensory overwhelm, digestion, or simply coping with everyday life?

At Restore, we talk about something called The Perfect Storm. It is the idea that sometimes it is not one single thing contributing to how a child is feeling or functioning, but rather a build-up of stress across pregnancy, birth, early development, illness, environment, and life experiences that may influence how their nervous system adapts over time.

This is not about blame or finding something that went wrong. It is about understanding your child through a different lens and leaving with practical insights and hope.

Tonight’s Perfect Storm session at Restore Studio Moama is a short, practical conversation designed for busy parents who want to better understand what may influence a child’s ability to regulate, adapt, and thrive.

Co-regulation is something many parents already do instinctively. Holding, rocking, humming, staying close.

These simple moments of connection can help support a child’s sense of safety and regulation through the nervous system.

And if your child still finds it hard to settle, it does not mean you are doing anything wrong. Some nervous systems may simply need more support, consistency, and time to adapt.

If you would like to learn more about how we support nervous system regulation in children, feel free to explore the link in our bio or send us a DM 🤍
