Life Skills Victoria

Life Skills Victoria Welcome to Life Skills Victoria! Head to our website and check out our programs and courses! We also run a cafe, canteen and catering business.

A non-for-profit offering NDIS programs and educational courses to help adults with disabilities achieve their goals and aspirations. Life Skills Victoria is a not-for-profit National Disability Insurance Scheme provider of quality education, training, disability and community services. We are an adult and community education facility that offers a range of activities, programs and further educati

on across a variety of local settings. We work with participants, their families and carers to identify aspirations and develop clear pathways to achieve their short-term and long-term goals. We collaborate with local businesses and community organisations including primary schools, local football clubs, aged care facilities, supermarkets, town halls, galleries etc. to equip our participants with real-world and meaningful learning experiences. Life Skills Victoria operates from 3 locations within Moe: the High St facility; the Parer Ave facility; and a community hub - also on High St. We are uniquely positioned as a learn local organisation and a registered training organisation to provide stepping stones to lifelong learning. We specialise in capacity building for participation; education and training; health and well-being; life and living skills; and the arts. Our participants are actively engaged within the community. They are involved in a range of local community activities including developing and performing our much anticipated annual theatre performance, and producing paintings and woodwork for sale at local galleries and markets. We are good at what we do because we employ passionate and qualified staff, and take professional development very seriously. We are directed by a dedicated Board of Management from a diverse range of industries. We are not in the business of care taking or rapid expansion. We are serious about developing life skills and graduating people with disabilities into an inclusive community. Come chat with us today to see what we can do for you or your family member. We recently sat down with Melina Bath MP as part of our “Meet the Politician” series, hosted at Life Skills Victoria in Moe. With the election just three months away, the discussion focused heavily on the immediate future of our region and the pressing issues facing our community.

Key takeaways included plans for a proactive government, strategies to tackle government debt, and a commitment to providing clear transparency regarding public spending. We also touched on ongoing local challenges, including energy issues and local employment.

A major topic of discussion was community safety. We explored a two-pronged approach to reducing crime: dealing with the immediate problem through increased policing, while also addressing the root causes by supporting youth programs that help young people enter the workforce and think differently about their future.

Melina’s own background in Gippsland’s small business sector meant she truly understood the challenges we face. A huge thank you to the wonderful staff at Life Skills for hosting and servicing the event. It was a perfect reminder of how local small businesses continuously support not-for-profits and keep our community connected!
