Check out our new Teen Active Bystander player cards!

We use Brook's Active Bystander model to teach teens how to go from being passive when dealing with conflict to a safe yet active bystander.

These 'pokemon card sized' de-escalation cards are combined with real life situations teens have found themselves in.

Here are three that we discussed at a local high school just yesterday.

"The Bus Stop" "You're waiting for the bus after school. An older teenager is making comments about a younger kid's appearance — getting louder and more aggressive. A small crowd is gathering. The younger kid looks scared. You don't know either of them."

"The Video" "Your friend shows you a video on their phone - it's of another student from your year looking embarrassed. Your friend is about to send it to the whole year group's group chat. They think it's hilarious. You're the only one who's seen it so far."

"The Comment in Class" "A teacher has just left the room for two minutes. One of the louder kids makes a cruel comment about another student's body — everyone laughs, including some of your friends. The student who was targeted goes red and stares at their desk. Your friends are looking at you expecting you to laugh too."

We have over 30 teens enrolled across our 8 week safety programs this term!

So excited to be working with Coburg and Templestowe High Schools again.

Looking to bring safety skills to the next generation of adults with the goal of improving awareness, growing confidence and safety to help them navigate the complexities of life.

If you have a teen who would benefit from these skills then contact me and let’s make it happen!

Today my client was not feeling the best, sore shoulder and knee but like the champion she was she still wanted to train - so we mixed it up!

We trained in the glorious sunshine ..

We swapped the gloves for Escrima sticks and focussed on the weapons as an extension of our body, working on body movement to generate fluidity and power.

This is our 5th session with Bank Australia since we kicked off our Safety Pact workplace programs.

Today we found ourselves in Gippsland, where we find some of the highest rates of violence across the state.

Working with BANK Australia’s front of house teams supporting their Moe and Traralgon branches we focussed on how we keep ourselves and each other safe when faced with unpredictable situations.

Great to be supporting an organisation so committed to their employee safety and wellbeing!!

Neighbourhood houses support over 200,000 Victorians every week.

Their primary focus is on building connection and community yet they are facing significant issues around aggression and conflict.

At the Safety Pact we specialise in helping people build skills before, during and after conflict - because helping those who serve, keeps our communities safer!

Our Bayswater session was awesome!!

Our Community Safety Workshops are open to everyone — regardless of age or life stage.
In March we covered:

Safety Data across VIC - Safety HotSpots we're seeing across Victoria and AUS
Situational Awareness — closing the gap between noticing something is off and taking action
De-escalation — staying calm under pressure and using skills to develop connection and empathy
Physical Self Defence — including dirty fighting techniques to even the odds and knife awareness

A huge thank you to everyone who showed up with an open mind and the courage to step outside their comfort zone. You're building skills that matter.
Next one is coming. Be there!
