An Australian feature documentary of Narelle Fraser - Melbourne detective and now advocate of Mental Health awareness for first responders.

We were lucky enough to meet Narelle and listen to the Q&A afterwards.

A must watch for anyone interested in community safety and mental health.

The Golden Bridge: Avoiding Conflict with Dignity

Winston Churchill did it with a gold pepper pot, giving someone a dignified way to step back before things ever got heated.

How to build a golden bridge:
🔹 Remove the audience. Keep it private so no one has to save face in public.
🔹 Stand beside them, not against them. Turn "you vs. me" into "us vs. the situation."
🔹 Offer an easy way out. Give them a simple, dignified way to put things right.
🔹 Keep the real goal in view. Solve the problem rather than win the argument.

We all have salt shaker moments in everyday life

When people feel cornered, they get defensive, dig in or walk away. Offer them a golden bridge, and they're far more likely to cross it.

The safest conflict is the one that never starts. 💛
