My daughter just got her first job, and Iām also her boss.
A few weeks ago she asked me for a job at the clinic.
So I did what any employer would do. Sat her down, asked some questions and then she negotiated her own pay (she drove a harder bargain than most adults, for the record š)
She started training later that week.
And honestly? Itās hit me differently than I expected.
When I opened Monty Osteo, I wanted to build a space where firstly, we helped people. Secondly, where other practitioners could build their own businesses. And lastly, to provide employment opportunities for admin staff.
I didnāt think about the fact that it could also be the place my own daughter gets her first taste of real work - learning what it means to show up, be relied on and earn something for herself.
Thatās the bit that gets me in the feels. This isnāt just a clinic. Itās become a place where our community works, grows and looks out for each other - including my own kid.
Proud boss. Prouder mum.
