Migraine is more than “just a headache.”
It can cause dizziness, vertigo, visual symptoms, sensitivity to light/noise, nausea, brain fog, and difficulty with everyday activities. Many people don’t realise migraine can also affect the vestibular system causing episodes of dizziness or motion sensitivity, even without significant head pain. If dizziness, imbalance, or motion sensitivity are impacting your daily life, support and treatment options are available💜

Why Walking Helps Your Vestibular System 👣
Many people think they need to avoid movement when dizzy.... but gentle, gradual movement is often one of the BEST things for vestibular recovery. Research has shown that walking programs can improve postural stability, reduce dizziness, and decrease anxiety in people with vestibular dysfunction. One 2022 study found that regular walking improved physical activity levels, balance performance, and self-perceived dizziness symptoms in people with chronic unilateral vestibular hypofunction. Movement is medicine for the vestibular system! The goal isn’t to avoid symptoms completely, but to help the brain gradually adapt and recalibrate. 💡

“Still dizzy weeks later?”
It’s not something you simply have to “push through.” After experiencing issues in the vestibular system, the brain and balance system can take time to recalibrate. Symptoms can linger, especially with busy environments, quick movements, fatigue, or stress.

The good news? Vestibular rehabilitation, gradual movement exposure, balance retraining, and rebuilding confidence can all help your brain adapt and feel more stable again.

Small steps matter and progress is possible with the right support! We’re here to help! Call us on 33424378 to book an appointment.

April is Falls Awareness Month👉 Let’s talk about falls.
Because here’s the truth:
💥 Falls are NOT just part of getting older
💥 They’re often a warning sign your balance system needs help
💥 And many are preventable
In fact, around 1 in 4 adults over 65 fall each year but improving balance and strength can reduce that risk significantly. 👀 Watch out for early signs and start the conversation.

🌐 Want to learn more? Check out the Falls Awareness Month campaign at https://fallsnetwork.neura.edu.au/aprilfalls2026/ for helpful resources. 💪 Or better yet come in for a balance assessment today!

We often hear descriptions like: “The room is spinning”, “I feel lightheaded” and “I’m just off-balance”

While these are helpful, the type of dizziness alone doesn’t give us the full answer.
👉 Different conditions can feel very similar
👉 The same condition can feel different from person to person

At our clinic, we take a big picture approach 🧠. We combine your story and specific testing to find the real cause of your dizziness. If you’ve been told “everything is normal” but you’re still dizzy it might be time for a more thorough assessment. Call us on 33424378 to book an appointment.

Did you know that Tai Chi can support recovery from dizziness and balance disorders? Tai Chi is a gentle, flowing form of movement that challenges your balance system in a safe and controlled way — making it a great complement to vestibular rehabilitation.

💡 Why it works:
• Improves ankle strength & flexibility for a more stable base
• Enhances coordination between your eyes, inner ear and body
• Reduces postural sway and improves proprioception
• Builds confidence and reduces fear of falling

For people with vestibular conditions, staying active is key! Avoiding movement can actually slow recovery. Tai Chi provides a low-impact way to keep moving while retraining your balance system.
