Well they say when it rains it pours!

We're short-staffed today with four of our doctors off sick, so we're running with a reduced team. We're very sorry for any inconvenience this causes.

If you have an appointment today, please bear with us - wait times may be longer than usual, and in some cases we may need to reschedule - we are currently working through the list. Our reception team will be in touch if anything changes.

Unfortunately Ergon works are taking longer than expected. Transformer is only now getting lifted into position and we have been advised minimum 1.5-2hrs from now (3.30)

Staff are currently calling from unknown number for the appointments we did have this afternoon and will reschedule or call in the morning to rebook when our system is back up.

⚡ Morning everyone, quick reminder about today ⚡

Ergon's work is going ahead, so we're without power at the practice from 8:30am to 3:00pm today.

✅ Open now until 8:30am
❌ Closed 8:30am to 3:30pm
✅ Open again 3:30pm to 5:30pm

If you have an appointment with us today it's going ahead as normal, we've worked our books around the outage.

We'll have limited phones but no computer access while we're closed, which means we can't book or change appointments until we're back on. Best to call back after 3.30pm or tomorrow if non urgent.

If you need help while we're closed, call 000 in an emergency, or 13 HEALTH on 13 43 25 84 for advice any time. Moranbah Hospital is also open if you need to be seen.

Ergon Energy is carrying out planned works in Moranbah tomorrow, and our practice will be without power from 8:30am to 3:00pm.

OUR HOURS TOMORROW:
✅ OPEN 7:00am to 8:30am
❌ CLOSED 8:30am to 3:00pm
✅ OPEN 3:30pm to 5:30pm

Everyone with an appointment during the closed period has already been contacted and rescheduled, so there's nothing you need to do.

While the power is out we'll have limited phone service, but no access to our computer systems. That means we can't make, change or look up appointments during that time. We're happy to take your details and call you back once we're up and running from 3:30pm. We also won't be able to process card payments.

We are deeply saddened by the incident at Peak Downs, which has taken the life of a worker and left others injured.

Our sincere condolences go to the family, friends and workmates of the worker that has passed away. We are also thinking of those in hospital and the families sitting with them, and we hope very much for their recovery.

For many of you this is not over - there are people still waiting on news, and shifts still to be worked. In a community like ours a loss like this is felt widely: by crews, by first responders, and by families at home.

If you are struggling, please reach out. Our doctors and nurses are available to talk, and we are holding emergency appointments open for anyone directly affected. Just mention it to our reception team when you call and we will find you a time. If getting in is difficult, we can arrange a phone consultation instead.

For those with Lung Conditions especially- please take note ! Isaac Regional Council advises Moranbah residents of public safety vegetation management activities (Hazard Reduction Burns) behind the Grosvenor Drive, commencing on:

Saturday, 4 July 2026 (WEATHER PERMITTING)

This work is being carried out by the Queensland Fire Department to control flammable vegetation prior to the bushfire season.

Please remove any personal items within the marked area as fire operations may cause damage to personal items.

Hazard reduction activities will be subject to prevailing weather conditions. Council advises residents to prepare for possible smoke hazards and related health impacts and recommends the following steps:

Keep all door and windows closed to prevent smoke entering homes.
Residents with breathing difficulties are advised to remain indoors and have any medication close by.
Refrain from hanging out washing to minimise damage from falling embers or smoke.
Retract pool covers and stow any outdoor furniture to prevent ember burns.
Be aware that snakes and other vermin may be on the move because of the burning bushland.
Council apologises for any inconvenience and thanks residents for their patience.
