🌱 What does an anti-inflammatory lifestyle look like?

You don't need to follow a strict diet, eliminate entire food groups or survive on green juice. 😅

An anti-inflammatory approach is about the overall pattern of how you eat and live, not one specific food or supplement.

🥦 Eat plenty of colourful vegetables & fruit
🌾 Choose wholegrains & high-fibre foods
🫘 Include beans, lentils, nuts & seeds
🐟 Enjoy oily fish & healthy unsaturated fats
💧 Stay well hydrated
😴 Prioritise good quality sleep
🏃 Move your body regularly
🧘 Find ways to manage stress
🚭 Avoid smoking and limit alcohol

And remember — you don't need to be perfect. Consistent, sustainable habits matter more than following a “perfect” anti-inflammatory diet.

💡 Think less about what you need to eliminate, and more about what you can add to your everyday routine.

Save this post as a simple reminder that supporting your health goes beyond food. 💚

❌ Not All Pain Is The Same❌

Not all pain has the same cause.

Pain can come from injured tissues, irritated nerves, or an overprotective nervous system. Knowing which mechanism is driving your symptoms helps guide the most effective treatment.

Pain isn't one-size-fits-all—and neither is physiotherapy.

👣 WHAT IS STEPtember? 👣

Did you know STEPtember is a month-long movement challenge that helps raise awareness and funds for people living with cerebral palsy?

Throughout September, participants aim to move 10,000 steps a day for 28 days, while raising funds to support people with cerebral palsy and help create greater opportunities for participation, inclusion and independence.

But STEPtember is about more than just counting steps. It’s about coming together, getting active and making a difference 👏

👟 Every step helps support cerebral palsy research, services and initiatives

🚶‍♀️ Walk with friends
🐕 Take the dog for a walk
💪 Get moving at the gym
🧑‍🦽 Find movement that works for you
👣 Or simply build more activity into your day

This September, our allied health team is getting behind STEPtember and helping spread awareness of cerebral palsy. If you would like to donate or follow our progress you can do so here: https://www.steptember.org.au/fundraisers/allin

Let’s get moving and step up for CP! 👣

❤️Little Actions. Lasting Impact❤️

This Red Nose Day, we're joining Australians across the country to raise awareness for safer sleep, support grieving families, and help fund vital research that saves little lives.

We know that healthy communities begin with healthy families. That's why we're proud to stand behind initiatives that provide education, support and hope to parents during one of life's most important journeys.

Whether it's learning about safe sleep practices, checking in on a new parent, or supporting a family who has experienced loss, every act of kindness matters.

Today, we encourage you to wear red, start a conversation, and help spread awareness.

Together, we can help give every baby the safest possible start in life. ❤️

💢Acute vs Persistent Pain💢

Pain and tissue healing don't always follow the same timeline.

Acute pain is a normal protective response, but persistent pain doesn't necessarily mean there's ongoing damage. Sometimes the nervous system remains more protective than it needs to be.

Understanding this can completely change how you approach recovery.

🌼Every Daffodil Tells a Story🌼

This Daffodil Day, we stand with the thousands of Australians affected by cancer.

Whether you're currently undergoing treatment, celebrating remission, remembering a loved one, or supporting someone through their journey—you are not alone.

We're honoured to support people at every stage of their health journey. Through movement, rehabilitation and compassionate care, we help our clients regain strength, confidence and independence so they can continue doing the things that matter most.

Today, we encourage our community to wear yellow, start a conversation, and if you're able, donate to help fund vital cancer research and support services.

Together, we can bring hope for a future where more people survive and thrive after cancer.

💛 Wear yellow. Give hope. Make a difference.

⛰️The Three Peaks Model⛰️

Why does pain often come before tisWhy does pain often come before tissue damage?

The Three Peaks Model explains one of the most important concepts in pain science—your brain is designed to protect you, not just respond to injury.

Understanding this helps explain why pain and tissue damage don't always match.

Next video: Why pain sometimes sticks around long after an injury.

🤕What is Pain?🤕

Pain isn't always a sign that something is damaged.

Pain is your body's protective alarm system, designed to keep you safe. Sometimes that alarm accurately reflects an injury, and sometimes it becomes more protective than it needs to be.

Understanding why pain occurs is the first step towards managing it.

This is the first video in my pain education series, where we'll break down pain into simple, easy-to-understand concepts and discuss how physiotherapy can help.

💬 Save this video and follow along for the rest of the series.

👖Jeans for Genes Day👖

Today is Jeans for Genes Day, a chance to raise awareness and support children and families affected by genetic conditions.

For many families, a genetic condition can mean ongoing medical appointments, therapies and daily challenges. Research, early diagnosis and access to the right support can make a meaningful difference to a child's health, development and quality of life.

As healthcare professionals, we're proud to stand behind initiatives that help improve outcomes for children and provide hope for families across Australia.

If you're able, consider making a donation, starting a conversation, or learning more about the impact of genetic conditions and the importance of ongoing research.

Every step towards better research and support brings us closer to brighter futures for children and their families. 💙
