You felt it years ago.

You decided it was nothing. You stretched it. You changed the chair. You kept going.

The pain didn't go away. It got quieter. Your body learned to compensate. You stopped noticing what you used to feel β€” and slowly stopped doing some of the things you used to do.

This is how chronic back pain works. It doesn't suddenly get worse. You finally notice.

If you've been pushing through neck, low back, mid back, or sciatica pain for months or years β€” and you're starting to wonder when it'll just be over β€” that's the moment to come in.

Our new-patient assessment includes a full exam, a plain-English explanation of what's actually happening, and a first treatment. EPC referrals from your GP are bulk-billed. DVA Gold and White Cards are accepted.

Been pushing through? Book an assessment β€” link in our bio.

Neck pain and stiffness are often linked to long hours at a desk, poor posture, stress or muscle tension. Try these three simple stretches to improve flexibility and ease discomfort.
1. Chin Tucks
Sit or stand tall with your shoulders relaxed. Gently pull your chin straight back, creating a "double chin" without tilting your head up or down. Hold for 5 seconds and repeat 10 times. This exercise helps strengthen the deep neck muscles and encourages better posture.
2. Upper Trapezius Stretch
Sit upright and gently tilt your head towards one shoulder. Use the hand on the same side to apply light pressure until you feel a stretch along the opposite side of your neck. Hold for 20–30 seconds, then switch sides. Repeat 2–3 times on each side.
3. Levator Scapulae Stretch
Turn your head about 45 degrees to one side, then look down towards your armpit. Place your hand on the back of your head and apply gentle pressure until you feel a stretch at the back and side of your neck. Hold for 20–30 seconds before repeating on the other side.
Move slowly and avoid forcing any stretch. If neck pain persists, worsens, or is accompanied by numbness, tingling or weakness, it’s important to seek professional advice. A chiropractor can assess the underlying cause of your neck pain and provide personalised treatment, along with exercises to help improve movement and reduce recurring discomfort.

Tight hips can contribute to lower back discomfort, reduced mobility and stiffness when walking, sitting or exercising. Here are three simple stretches that may help improve hip flexibility.
1. Hip Flexor Stretch
Step one foot forward into a lunge position and gently lower your back knee to the floor. Shift your weight forward until you feel a stretch at the front of your hip. Keep your chest upright and hold for 20–30 seconds before switching sides.
2. Figure 4 Stretch
Lie on your back with your knees bent. Cross one ankle over the opposite knee, creating a "4" shape. Gently pull the supporting leg towards your chest until you feel a stretch through the hip and buttock. Hold for 20–30 seconds on each side.
3. Butterfly Stretch
Sit on the floor with the soles of your feet together and your knees falling out to the sides. Hold your feet and gently lean forward while keeping your back straight. You should feel a stretch through the inner thighs and hips. Hold for 20–30 seconds.
Move into each stretch slowly and avoid forcing the movement. Regular stretching, combined with strengthening exercises and good movement habits, can help improve hip mobility over time.
If hip stiffness or pain is persistent, getting worse, or limiting your daily activities, it may be worth having it assessed. At Aaron Health Chiropractic, we can identify factors contributing to hip discomfort and develop a personalised plan to help you move more comfortably.

What is Chiropractic Care?
Chiropractic care is a healthcare profession focused on diagnosing, managing, and helping prevent conditions affecting the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system. Chiropractors use hands-on techniques and evidence-informed approaches to improve movement, reduce pain, and support overall function.
A common chiropractic treatment is spinal adjustment which involves applying a controlled force to specific joints that may not be moving properly. Chiropractors may also use soft tissue therapy, joint mobilisation, stretching, exercise prescription, posture advice, and lifestyle recommendations as part of a personalised treatment plan.
Many people seek chiropractic care for conditions such as lower back pain, neck pain, headaches, sciatica, shoulder pain, sports injuries, and stiffness related to work or daily activities. Treatment aims to address the underlying cause of discomfort rather than simply masking symptoms.
Before commencing care, a chiropractor will perform a thorough assessment, which may include reviewing your health history, physical examination, orthopaedic and neurological testing, and, when clinically indicated, imaging such as X-rays. This helps ensure treatment is safe and appropriate for your individual needs.
Chiropractic care is suitable for people of all ages and is often used alongside other healthcare services. The goal is to help patients move better, feel better, and maintain an active, healthy lifestyle.
If you're experiencing musculoskeletal pain or restricted movement, a chiropractor can assess your condition and discuss the most appropriate treatment options for you.

As we get older, everyday activities like walking, gardening or even getting out of a chair can become more difficult due to joint stiffness, reduced mobility and ongoing aches and pains. Chiropractic care may help seniors stay active by improving joint movement, reducing muscle tension and supporting better overall function.

Many older adults seek chiropractic care for back pain, neck pain, arthritis-related joint discomfort and balance concerns. Treatment is always tailored to the individual and may include gentle spinal adjustments, soft tissue techniques, stretching advice and exercises designed to improve strength and flexibility.

Maintaining good mobility is important for independence and quality of life. When joints move more freely and muscles function better, daily tasks may feel easier and more comfortable. Chiropractors can also provide advice on posture, balance, lifting techniques and healthy movement habits to help reduce strain on the body.

Before beginning care, a chiropractor will complete a thorough assessment, including your medical history, to ensure treatment is suitable for your needs. For seniors with conditions such as osteoporosis or other health concerns, techniques can be modified to provide a gentle and appropriate approach.

If you're looking to stay active, move more comfortably and support your spinal health as you age, chiropractic care may be a valuable part of your overall healthcare plan.

Headaches can have many causes, including muscle tension, poor posture, stress, neck stiffness, jaw problems and reduced movement in the joints of the neck. A chiropractor assesses how these factors may be contributing to your symptoms and develops a personalised treatment plan.
Chiropractic care may help reduce the frequency and intensity of certain types of headaches, particularly tension headaches and some headaches that originate from the neck, known as cervicogenic headaches. Treatment often includes gentle spinal adjustments, joint mobilisation, soft tissue therapy and advice on improving posture and ergonomics.
Your chiropractor may also recommend stretching and strengthening exercises to support the muscles of the neck and upper back. These exercises can improve mobility, reduce muscle tension and help prevent headaches from returning.
Lifestyle advice is another important part of care. This may include guidance on workstation setup, sleeping positions, hydration, stress management and regular movement throughout the day, especially for people who spend long hours at a desk.
Because headaches can sometimes be a sign of a more serious medical condition, chiropractors perform a thorough history and examination. If your symptoms suggest another underlying cause, you may be referred to your GP or another healthcare provider for further assessment.
If headaches are affecting your daily life, chiropractic care may be one option to help improve neck function, ease muscle tension and support long-term headache management.
Please contact your Health Practioner before commencing any treatment.

Here are 4 simple stretches for shoulder pain that may help reduce stiffness and improve mobility. Perform them gently and stop if pain increases.
1. Cross-Body Shoulder Stretch
Bring one arm across your chest and use the other hand to gently pull it closer. Keep your shoulders relaxed.
Hold: 20–30 seconds each side.
2. Doorway Chest Stretch
Place your forearms on a doorway with elbows at shoulder height. Step forward until you feel a gentle stretch through the chest and front of the shoulders.
Hold: 20–30 seconds.
3. Upper Trapezius Stretch
Sit or stand tall. Tilt one ear toward the shoulder and gently assist with your hand. Keep the opposite shoulder relaxed and down.Hold: 20–30 seconds each side.

For best results, perform these stretches 1–2 times daily, especially if shoulder pain is related to desk work, poor posture, lifting, or muscle tightness.
If shoulder pain is severe, follows an injury, or includes weakness, numbness, or significant loss of movement, seek professional assessment.

Sciatica can cause pain, tingling or numbness that travels from your lower back into your buttock and down your leg. While stretches won't fix every cause of sciatica, they can help reduce muscle tension and improve mobility.

1. Piriformis Stretch
Lie on your back, cross your affected ankle over the opposite knee, then gently pull your supporting leg towards your chest. Hold for 20–30 seconds and repeat 2–3 times.

2. Knee-to-Chest Stretch
Lie on your back and slowly pull one knee towards your chest while keeping the other leg relaxed. Hold for 20–30 seconds before switching sides. This can help reduce lower back tension.

3. Seated Hamstring Stretch
Sit with one leg straight and the other bent. Keeping your back straight, lean forward from your hips until you feel a gentle stretch in the back of your thigh. Hold for 20–30 seconds on each side.

If your sciatica is severe, worsening, or accompanied by significant weakness, numbness or changes in bladder or bowel control, seek urgent medical attention. For ongoing symptoms, a chiropractor can assess the underlying cause and develop a personalised treatment plan that may include hands-on care, rehabilitation exercises and advice to help you move more comfortably.
