🍏🥮 Fresh from the TLC Kitchen Pantry! 🥮🍏

This week, participants rolled up their sleeves and got creative in the kitchen, making delicious homemade Apple Scrolls! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

From preparing the ingredients and learning baking techniques to filling, rolling, and baking their scrolls, everyone enjoyed a hands-on experience while building practical kitchen skills and confidence.

The TLC Kitchen Pantry program is all about developing independence, learning new recipes, and having fun while creating tasty treats to share with friends and family. Best of all, the smell of freshly baked apple scrolls filled the centre! 🍏✨

Great job to everyone who took part. They looked amazing and tasted even better! 😋

What an amazing day we had at the Disability Expo at MAC 02 on Wednesday! 🎉

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by the TLC Community Centre stall to say hello, learn about our programs, ask questions, and share a laugh with our team. It was fantastic meeting so many wonderful people, reconnecting with familiar faces, and showcasing all the exciting things happening at TLC. 💙

From community programs and social activities to skill-building opportunities and support services, we loved sharing how TLC helps people connect, grow, and thrive. 🌱✨

A special thank you to the event organisers, fellow exhibitors, participants, families, support workers, and everyone who helped make the day such a success.

September is shaping up to be another fantastic month at the TLC Community Centre! 🎉

Participants can enjoy a wide range of activities including TLC Kitchen Pantry, Craft Collective, Makers Lab, Green Thumbs, Outdoor Crew, Woodworking, Motor Club, Cooking Club, and Life Skills. There's plenty of opportunities to learn new skills, make friends, build confidence, and have fun along the way. 💙

Whether you're keen to get creative, explore the community, work on practical projects, learn new cooking skills, or get hands-on with vehicles and small engines, there's something for everyone this month.

🧊💙 TLC Takes on the MND Ice Bucket Challenge! 💙🧊
Last week, our TLC participants and staff stepped up (and cooled down! 😄) to take part in the MND Ice Bucket Challenge—and what an incredible effort it was!
There were plenty of laughs, a few shocked faces, and lots of team spirit as everyone got involved. It was fantastic to see our staff and participants encouraging one another, stepping outside their comfort zones, and having so much fun together. 🙌
Thanks to everyone’s generosity and support, we were also able to raise some funds for MND, helping to make a difference for those living with Motor Neurone Disease. 💙
We’re so proud of everyone who took part—you all did an amazing job! 👏

Last week, our TLC Motor Club members headed out for a great day in the community, attending the grand opening of Sydney Tools.
It was fantastic to see everyone getting involved—exploring, chatting, and enjoying the atmosphere together. Our participants really made the most of the outing, showing their interest in tools, cars, and all things hands-on, while building confidence and social connections along the way. 🙌
Opportunities like this are what TLC Motor Club is all about—supporting people to get out, try new things, and be part of the community in a meaningful way.
We’re so proud of everyone who attended and represented TLC so well! 💙

Last week, our TLC Day Centre participants had the privilege of visiting Ten Lives to deliver the donations they worked so hard to collect.
Over the past two months, participants have been taking part in our TLC Happy Paws program, exploring animal care, community engagement, and the many benefits of connecting with animals. Along the way, they decided they wanted to make a real difference by supporting a local animal shelter.
The participants designed and created a donation box, produced promotional flyers, and encouraged donations from participants, staff, and the wider TLC community. The response was incredible, and together we were able to support Ten Lives with a wonderful collection of much-needed items.
This project has been about so much more than collecting donations. It has helped participants build confidence, strengthen teamwork, develop planning and organisational skills, and experience the joy that comes from giving back to the community.
A huge thank you to everyone who donated and supported this initiative, and to the wonderful team at Ten Lives for welcoming our participants and sharing the important work you do every day.
We are so proud of everything our participants have achieved and can’t wait to see where the TLC Happy Paws program takes us next! 🐱💚

🔧🚜 TLC Motor Club is in full swing! 🚜🔧

Things have been so busy at TLC Motor Club that we’ve had to expand… and we’re excited to announce we are now running TWO days a week — Tuesdays AND Thursdays! 🎉

The crew has been getting hands-on and diving into all things mechanical, exploring chainsaw engines, lawn mowers, and outboard motors 🛠️⚙️ As well as general car repairs and servicing.

One of the highlights? Getting an “ancient” ride-on lawn mower back up and running again — a fantastic effort and a real team win! 💪🚜

It’s been great to see skills growing, confidence building, and plenty of problem-solving along the way.
