SOMATIC EQUINE THERAPY

The horses always know exactly what we need.

Which is not necessarily what we want!

I never know who will be involved in a session. Sometimes it's only one horse. Sometimes it's the whole team.

In a recent session, one herd member quietly stood on alert watching out, representing a hypervigilant part of the participant's nervous system... as another gently invited the participant to listen, to soften, to let go.

The horses don't follow a script and are not trained to do this work.

Instead they respond to what is happening energetically beneath the surface, reflecting the shifts taking place within us.

No two sessions are ever the same. And that's where the magic lives.

SKYE & JIGSAW UPDATE 27th July

Hello everyone,

I promised to send an update today after Skye's first ever consult with a vet. And I'm delighted to report that both Skye and the vet were angels :)

For those who don't know Skye's history, she came to me 11 yrs ago having experienced massive trauma. To this day her nervous system is still stuck in hypervigilance and her level of distrust is high. Our amazing vet Noelle from was brilliant with her ... I can't thank her enough.

The bad news is that we didn't get a definitive diagnosis, which is not at all unusual for lameness exams. The good news is that we ruled some things out. So we have a plan moving forward to start with, and will assess where she is at in a week or two's time.

See not very good picture of Skye, Hazel and myself all wrapped up for xrays! You can probably see the look of resigned uncertainly in Skye's eye.

Jigsaw on the other hand is responding VERY well to his fourth course of antibiotics, and his abcess is coming down well. Given the location up high in his sheath it is a different area to drain from - but I am hopeful he is now on the path to full recovery.

𝐆𝐎𝐅𝐔𝐍𝐃𝐌𝐄 ~ 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐉𝐢𝐠𝐬𝐚𝐰 & 𝐒𝐤𝐲𝐞

I'm reaching out to ask that if you're in a position to help, I'd be so grateful for any contribution towards the veterinary bills that have, and will continue to arrive, in particular for Jigsaw and Skye (pictured above).

With winter now in full swing (frost yesterday and today), business slows down. Guests and sessions are fewer and so income reduces. (FYI roaring log fires and crispy walks are the best time of year!! ... just saying).

But care of the horses remains unchanged.

Poor Jigsaw has been coping with a massive abcess in his sheath (confirmed today by ultrasound). He's currently on his fourth round of antibiotics (and yes, I will most definitely get him onto pre & pro biotics once he is sorted). He has continued to support clients throughout his uncomfortable ordeal (and believe me when I tell you it's been as hard as a cricket ball!)

Skye is literally hopping lame. She lies down on her side for much needed relief, and when she stands she is challenged to know which leg she can stand on. She's had bodywork all year for this, and I feel it is now time to call in veterinary support. Diagnosing lameness can be a big black hole in the wallet!

So, if you can find it in your heart to support these kind and giving beings, I'd be deeply appreciative.

We had so much fun at our day with unicorns a couple of weeks ago.

So much fun that we might have to do it again.
