For Nenad, faith has always been the cornerstone of his life, and living at St Simeon Healthcare’s Residential Village has allowed him to continue embracing this deeply personal connection.

Just across the village stands St Stefan Church, a place where he finds solace, community, and spiritual renewal. Every Sunday, his carer accompanies him to the church, guiding him through its familiar doors where he is greeted by the warmth of his fellow worshippers. The sound of hymns and prayers fills the air, bringing him peace and a sense of belonging.

These visits are more than just routine—they are moments of profound joy and reflection for Nenad. The ability to attend services, light a candle, and bow his head in prayer reassures him that his faith remains an active part of his life.

Knowing that St Simeon Healthcare supports his spiritual needs brings him deep gratitude, ensuring that, despite the passing years, his connection to God and his community remains unwavering. 🙏✨

🍒🍉🍅🍎🍓Importance of healthy nutrition for seniors🥑🥦🥒🍏🍐

Proper nutrition is essential for older adults to maintain overall health, energy levels, and quality of life.

As we age, our bodies require key nutrients to support immune function, bone strength, and cognitive health.

A well-balanced diet rich in proteins, vitamins, and minerals helps reduce the risk of chronic illnesses such as heart disease, osteoporosis, and diabetes, while also promoting better digestion and mobility.

Beyond physical health, good nutrition plays a vital role in emotional and mental wellbeing. Eating nutrient-dense meals can improve mood, maintain mental clarity, and provide the energy needed for daily activities.

St Simeon Healthcare recognises the importance of tailored nutrition for older individuals and supports a holistic approach to aged care that prioritises healthy eating for a fulfilling and independent lifestyle.

Please read the positive feedback from a parent who had a father reside at St Simeon Village:

“I am writing to extend my heartfelt gratitude and offer my highest recommendation for St Simeon Nursing Home. My father, Petar, spent almost a year in the care of St Simeon before his passing, and during this time, the compassion, professionalism, and attentiveness of the staff exceeded all expectations.

The nurses and other care staff treated my father with dignity, kindness, and genuine warmth. It was deeply reassuring to know that he was not only being cared for clinically, but also respected and valued as a person. The team consistently went above and beyond to ensure his comfort and wellbeing.

What particularly stood out to me was the excellent communication. I was kept regularly informed of any changes in my father's condition, no matter how small, and this consistent engagement gave me peace of mind during what was a very difficult time for our family.

St Simeon is more than just a nursing facility - it is a place of empathy, respect, and humanity. I am forever grateful for the care and support they provided to my father and our family. I wholeheartedly recommend St Simeon Nursing Home to any family seeking high quality, compassionate care for their loved ones.”

Starting 1 November 2025, the Support at Home program will replace the Home Care Packages Program. If you currently receive Home Care Package services, the cost of some of your services may change.

Pricing Changes:
- Until 30 June 2026, providers will continue setting their own prices.
- From 1 July 2026, the Australian Government will introduce price caps.

How Pricing Works:
- Support at Home prices will cover all service-related costs, including administrative expenses (e.g., transport).
- This is different from Home Care Packages, where administrative costs are charged separately.

What You Need to Do:
- Before 1 November 2025, your provider will discuss price changes and provide a new service agreement.
- A summary of pricing across different providers will help you compare costs and decide if you want to switch providers. Please visit: https://www.health.gov.au/resources/publications/summary-of-indicative-support-at-home-prices for more information.
