I’m sooo excited to be sharing this event 🙌

As we know there is so much information and misinformation  about women’s health online that sometimes it’s hard to know what to listen to, what to ignore and what actually matters.

And that’s one of the reasons I’m so excited about The Midlife Health Conversation.

I’ll be joined by Dr Shaminder Kaur, GP specialising in women’s health, and Chrissy Barrett, women’s wellbeing coach specialising in movement, breathwork and nervous system support, for a really open and honest conversation about what women actually need to thrive after 40.

Three women.
Three different areas of expertise.
One very important conversation.

We’ll talk about the things I know so many women are wondering about: Hormones. Nutrition. Gut health. Movement. Strength. Stress. The nervous system. HRT. Energy. Sleep. And how to actually look after yourself as your body changes.

We’ll also be talking about what really matters not the latest trend, not another miracle supplement and definitely not another list of things to do.

And I think there is something really powerful about being able to sit in a room with experienced practitioners, ask questions, challenge some of the noise and talk about this stage of life.

If you’re a woman over 40, I’d love you to join us.

Come with your questions. Come curious. Come ready to cut through some of the noise and leave with a much clearer understanding of how you can support your health and body in midlife and beyond.

A common pattern I see so often in clinic is women trying to shift weight in midlife who are eating well and restricting calories but feeling so frustrated and confused

But what I see missing is not doing any strength training. At this stage of life, nutrition and strength training aren’t separate conversations. They go hand in hand.

Muscle is future proofing your health and
You can’t charge body composition or change your weight long term without also building muscle. It changes how your metabolism works, how your body handles insulin, how strong your bones are, and honestly, how confident you feel in your own body.

From the age of 40 your muscle is declining rapidly so your metabolic health is less efficient.

Starting strength training can feel daunting, especially if it’s new to you but there are so many programs, gyms and group classes now that are built specifically for women just getting started.

Building muscle might just be one of the best investments you make in your health this year.

Still not feeling yourself on hormone therapy?
I see so many women confused and lost in this space
Hormone therapy needs constant reviewing, understanding the messages your body is sending you and working on the foundations

What helped you six months ago might not be what your body needs today.

Hormone therapy can only do so much without the foundations in place -
strength training, optional vitamin D and a high protein and fibre diet

If you feel like what you are currently doing is not working for you, I’d love to help you figure it out.

Have you noticed your gut and digestion has changed since perimenopause?

why? Our hormones are directly linked to our gut microbiome. When hormones decline, so does our microbiome diversity. Our gut lining also becomes more permeable aka leaky which leads to all sorts of symptoms.

This means you need to be more intentional about what you’re eating in midlife.

Eating the right fibre matters. And no not just cucumber, tomato and lettuce.

If this resonates and you need support, make sure you work with someone who really knows the gut. This is exactly what I do 🙋‍♀️

This can be uncomfortable or it can be informative and create awareness around what matters

It does reinforce how much confusion there is about losing weight in midlife and that its not easy

You don’t need more discipline, you just need a better strategy. A plan with personalised guidance.

We need to be nourished with real food so we feel energised
We don’t need to starve ourselves or be fearful of real food
Calories matter but so does sleep, protein, fibre and resistance training
