An interesting concept, one that certainly resonates with me

🚨 Being a people pleaser isn’t kindness — it’s quiet self-destruction disguised as harmony.

What begins as a desire to keep everyone happy can slowly wear down your body and mind. Over time, the constant stress of prioritizing others’ needs over your own activates the body’s fight-or-flight system — flooding you with cortisol, raising inflammation, and increasing risks for autoimmune diseases, fatigue, anxiety, and depression.

Psychologists note that people-pleasing is rarely just about politeness; it’s often a survival strategy rooted in early experiences where love or safety depended on approval. But the cost is steep: emotional burnout, resentment, and the loss of one’s own voice.

Recovery isn’t about becoming selfish — it’s about becoming self-aware. Healing starts when you:
• Learn to say “no” without apology.
• Rest without guilt.
• Build self-worth from authenticity, not validation.
• Surround yourself with people who respect boundaries instead of exploiting them.

For neurodivergent individuals, community understanding and sensory-safe coping tools can make this process gentler and more sustainable.

Choosing yourself doesn’t mean you care less — it means you’ve finally included yourself in the circle of care. 💚

First round of Iron infusion done for this 6 months… lets see how it takes in 2-3 weeks and go from there. Hoping no second round is needed but prepped and ready just in case

I do sometimes wonder how I got so lucky to be Mum to two beautiful human beings.

My amazing daughter saw this at the local post office here in Central QLD and just had to buy it.

This is our home country. Gods country.

The energy of the mountains and the crystal clear streams and the pure air and history! All things that you simply can not capture the true essence of in a photo. An amazing place that I am lucky to have experienced and one that I am now able to be reminded of on a daily basis

I’ve been taking some time to ground and be quiet.

Reflecting on 2024, the year that was; and what Id like to see, feel and experience in 2025.

I’ve written down my intentions; number #1 being to do things that make ME feel happy and aligned, and some more specific goals for the year which I intend to review and revise as the year progresses.

For me, writing things down is key… its great to have it all in your head but I feel like writing it in my note book adds some extra oomffhh to it haha… have you set your intentions and goals for the year ahead?

If not thats ok, its not for everyone and theres still a whole 11 and a bit months in the year to do so haha if so, tell me in the comments what your number #1 goal or intention is and if you’ve taken any steps towards doing just that!
