We are relieved to announce that Rene has been discharged from hospital and is currently resting and focusing on recovery at home. At this stage, no return to work date has been set, however, we will provide regular updates. Mount Louisa Medical Centre will be closed on Saturday, 2nd May, Sunday, 3rd May, and Monday, 4th May, reopening on Tuesday, 5th May at 8am. For urgent medical care, please visit the Urgent Care Centre located at Thuringowa Drive, Kirwan. Alternatively, urgent care is available at the Mater Emergency department, which operates daily until 11pm, with private billing requiring payment at the time of service. Patients may also visit the Emergency Department at Townsville University Hospital. Online bookings are available for Mount Louisa Medical Centre; please remember to cancel any unused appointments.

AVAILABLE NOW!! A nasal spray flu vaccine, pioneering in Australia, is now accessible for children between two and five years old (prior to turning 6) at no cost. Administered similarly to standard nasal sprays, a small dose is sprayed into each nostril, ensuring quick absorption, thus maintaining efficacy even in the event of a sneeze post-administration. This service is specifically designed for children aged two to five years, offering parents the flexibility to choose between the nasal spray vaccine and the conventional needle flu vaccine, with the latter being freely available to all Queensland residents aged six months and above.
