Fertility Series - Ask Nurse Laura
What can I expect at my first fertility appointment? And, when should I consider fertility treatment?
Your initial fertility appointment at Vera Wellness is designed to help you feel heard, supported, and informed.
During your consultation, your fertility specialist will take time to understand the full picture of your health and fertility journey — not just test results.
This may include discussing:
🌿 Your medical and fertility history
🌿 Menstrual cycles and ovulation
🌿 Lifestyle, nutrition, sleep, and stress
🌿 Previous pregnancies or fertility treatments
🌿 Hormone health and underlying conditions
🌿 Male fertility factors
🌿 Emotional wellbeing and support needs
Your specialist will also review any completed fertility investigations, such as blood tests, HyCoSy scans, or semen analysis results, and explain what they mean in a clear and compassionate way.
Not all fertility review appointments & investgations lead to requiring fertility treatments - some may just be lifestyle, diet, supplements, learning about your cycle and/or timing of in*******se.
Together, we’ll create a personalised plan tailored to your goals, whether that involves lifestyle support, further testing, ovulation tracking, fertility treatment, or complementary therapies.
Most importantly — this appointment is a space where you can ask questions, feel supported, and take the next step with confidence.
As a general rule we would recommend fertility treatment after 12 months of trying to concieve (if under 35) and 6 months (if over 35). However is this is individualised, certain health issues may warrant sooner assessment such as PMOS, endometriosis, or recurrent miscarriage.
