"I don't think they believe me."

In my experience people seek Bowen treatment if and when they're ready.

Which is exactly the right time.

It's something that Bowen can provide as a usually unspoken side effect.

We often talk about Bowen offering pain relief, balance, relaxation, improved sleep, digestion and mobility etc, but optimism for the future regarding injuries, surgeries and chronic pain is very important for motivation and emotional wellbeing.

Chronic issues can get you down and many new Bowen clients experience renewed hope if they experience pain relief, especially when other conventional treatments have been unable to provide this.

As was the case with a new client recently who broke 2 vertebra in her back 13 years ago and has since endured 2 surgeries.
Her constant sciatic pain has significantly reduced since starting Bowen treatment, something she had accepted as not possible after all this time.

And to leave each session pain free has given her a glimpse of how good her body can feel.

Can Bowen help with statin induced myositis ?

It can according to a client I saw recently.

He had been diagnosed with this condition after starting Statin medication several months ago.

His GP stopped the medication immediately but my client continued to suffer calf pain and sensitivity, leg weakness and a reported sense of a delay in the affected leg when walking.

After his first treatment, which involved only a basic Bowen knee procedure, which primarily addresses the calves, my client reported instant relief and a sense of normality to the affected calf and leg. His walking felt normal again..

On returning for a follow up treatment a week later, the improvements had maintained.

I never cease to be amazed by the human body and how effectively it often responds to this gentle therapy.

In his case, it was worth a try.

A long term client saw me recently with leg and buttock pain she’d never had before.

She was a little bit frustrated that the pain didn’t completely resolve after just one treatment as is usually the case when she comes along for maintenance treatments.

The difference in this case was that she had her gallbladder removed several weeks earlier.

The pain almost fully resolved after the second treatment, but it’s interesting to note that the 2nd treatment centred mainly around the area of the surgery and associated meridian connections.

The human body is finely tuned and regardless of how necessary or beneficial surgery may be, the body can benefit greatly from Bowen and / or scar tissue treatment pre and post surgery to help recover from the surgery itself.
