Congratulations to our Housekeeping team who were the recent winners of the Heart of Murdoch: Team Excellence Award! πŸ†β€οΈπŸ‘

The award was paid forward by our Security team who said the following:

β€œA lot of what this team does can go unnoticed because when their job is done well, we simply walk into a clean, welcoming and cared-for environment without thinking about the work that went into making it that way.
But Security sees you.
We see the early starts, the busy corridors, the constant work, and the care you put into this hospital every day. More importantly, we see the people behind the work - and the kindness you show to patients, visitors, and your fellow caregivers.
Thank you for everything you do, for the kindness you show, and for everything you contribute to Murdoch - including all the things you probably don't realise we notice. We see you, and we appreciate you.” 🀝

Let's hear it for our amazing Housekeeping team! ⭐

πŸ’— After 32 years as part of the Murdoch family, Joyce never imagined she would one day rely on the kindness of strangers to save her life.

A life-changing kidney transplant has given Joyce the chance to return to the things many of us take for granted - time with family, renewed independence and the possibility of working again.

This DonateLife Week, she's sharing her story to honour the incredible generosity of her donor and their family, and to encourage everyone to have the conversation about organ and tissue donation with their loved ones.

"Any recipient of a donated organ will never have the words to thank the donor and their family. It's the greatest gift that one can receive."

As we celebrate the International Year of Volunteers, we're shining a spotlight on the incredible people who generously give their time, compassion and care to support our hospital community.

Today, we're featuring Kathleen, one of our dedicated volunteers whose generosity and commitment to supporting patients and families reflect the values of compassionate care. Through her role as a Justice of the Peace, Kathleen helps people navigate important moments with kindness, respect and, as she says, "just a kind smile." πŸ’™

Every one of our 15,000 caregivers has a story. A purpose. A reason they do what they do.

As part of our We're For What Matters series, we're sharing the voices of caregivers from across St John of God Health Care and what inspires them each day.

Meet Ellen, Footprints Coordinator at St John of God Murdoch, who shares what matters most to them.

These reflections show the compassion, purpose and humanity that define who we are as a not-for-profit health care provider.

Find out what matters to us by watching our We're For What Matters video at www.sjog.org.au.

What matters most to you?

We're for what matters. πŸ’™

The moments of compassion. The reassuring smile. The helping hand when it's needed most.

Every day at St John of God Murdoch Hospital, our caregivers make a difference in ways big and small, because every interaction has the power to change someone's day.

This is what it means to bring our Mission to life.

Because when we focus on what matters most, Every Moment Matters.

What matters most to you?

Bec is one of our recent recipients of an Excellence Award ⭐

Bec is nurse and was nominated by a patient for the professional care they received during their stay in CCU, which left them feeling at ease. "The staff and doctors were all first class, but I would like to pass on my heartfelt thanks to Bec who looked after me during the day. Not only was she very thorough in carrying out her duties, but she went above and beyond to make sure I was comfortable, well informed and cared for. At no stage did I feel anxious. A heartfelt thank you, Bec," they said.

Well done, Bec! You are an asset to the Murdoch team! πŸ‘
