Welcome to the New Year! Hoping you all had a safe and relaxing break.

It was my first day back at Positive Chiropractic today with the usual array of typical Summer holiday issues. Whipper-snipper and ride-on lawn mower injuries, too much Christmas cheer injuries, excess consumption of inflammatory foods, bad starts to new year's resolution exercise routines, good starts to 'putting myself and my health first' new year's resolutions, family dynamic stress, and some cramming in of appointment before school gets back.

Whatever your reason for booking in, there are appointments available from Monday 13th. You can book online as a returning patient or via the virtual assistant on (02) 6672 2994 for new patients.

As the year comes to a close, I find myself reflecting on everything I am grateful for, including both the challenges and the victories. The year 2024 at Positive Chiropractic's new Murwillumbah St location has been a time of pivoting and focusing on what truly matters. Thank you for your support and trust as we navigate your healing journey together.

I will be taking the last three Mondays of the year off and will return on January 6th. Chris will be available for appointments except for the week between Christmas and New Year.

I recently travelled to Sydney to learn from renowned Dr Carlo Rinaudo about the science behind how laser benefits healing within the body.

I played around with the laser at clinic but results are so hard to measure. Even though I am a scientist at heart I needed a little more convincing. My question was if I wasn't easily convinced by the extensive research then how would I communicate the benefits to my patients?

Since then a series of events have happened to me that have hands down convinced me of the laser's benefits, in conjunction with other quality clinical care.

Leaving the gory pictures off of social media, I managed to get a sizeable nasty second degree burn. Right down to the fascia! I was visiting my brother and sister-in-law who just happened to be medical doctors so I did have the very best of advice and care at the time. But I also had my brand new laser with me.

It was nothing short of remarkable how quickly the wound healed, without scaring and no infection. I'm not going to pretend it was a painless recovery but I'm sure it helped.

Looking at the infographic here you can see skin and wound healing, diminished inflammation and assistance for soft tissue injury. The body was building new blood vessels, new GOOD QUALITY tissue and quickly.

I'd like to say I could have done without the personal experience but maybe I needed convincing!

I'm back! The fam and I had a wonderful three weeks soaking up days spent with Nanny.

Just before my break I went down to Sydney to train with Dr Carlo Rinaudo and Suzy Labrie in using class III cold laser. More to come on how laser fits in with your recovery and wellness.

One of my dear clients is in need of help.

While on the trip of a lifetime she experienced a heart attack and subsequent stroke. Her travel insurance isn’t covering medical expenses. Being in Alaska you can appreciate the costs are astronomical.
