Did you know we have three physiotherapists with Masters degrees in continence care/pelvic health?

Naomi, Eloise and Chelsey (currently on maternity leave) can help with your bladder and bowel issues.

Don’t just accept this as a ‘normal’ part of getting older or having a baby. Do something about it - there is very strong scientific evidence that physiotherapy can help!

Over the last few weeks, our final year physiotherapy students Chloe and Brooklyn have been on a mission to educate the community about concussion. 🧠

You may have seen some of their resources on our socials, our blog on our website or in the local newspaper. 📰

In addition, they presented three education sessions - one to Kincraig Medical Clinic, one to Naracoorte General Practice and one to the Kybybolite Tigers Football and Netball Club. In conjunction with our Sports Physiotherapist Angela Willsmore, they outlined current best practice for concussion assessment and management. 🤕

The sessions were really well received with lots of productive discussion to improve outcomes for concussion patients in our region. 🙌

If your club or organisation would like a concussion education session for players, parents, and/or sports trainers and club officials, please get in touch with us on 87621515 or via DM. 📞

Well done to the students of Sunrise Christian School Naracoorte who did some wonderful colouring ins for our recent competition for Walk to School Day.

The entries are brightening the walls of our Naracoorte clinic gym space. Pop in and check them out if you’re nearby.

Congratulations to all the winners, who received Archies shoe vouchers.

Concussion recovery is not about rushing back to sport - it's about returning safely.

Current AFL and AIS guidelines recommend a gradual, step-by-step recovery process, progressing only when symptoms have resolved or do not worsen.
Importantly, 21 days is a minimum, not a target. Every concussion is different, and recovery timelines will vary depending on symptoms, recovery progress, age and concussion history.

If you are unsure whether it is safe to return to sport, seek advice from an appropriately qualified healthcare practitioner.

While concussion risk can never be completely removed from Australian Football, there are steps we can take to help reduce the likelihood of injury.

Training skillfully, following the rules, improving physical preparation, and teaching safe techniques all play an important role in making our game safer.

Together, we can help players develop the skills, confidence and awareness needed to participate as safely as possible.

While many people recover well, concussion can affect a person’s ability to learn, work and participate in sport.

The best way to protect our community from the short and long-term effects of concussion is to ensure every suspected concussion is taken seriously, assessed appropriately, and managed safely.

If something is feeling off after a head knock, why not book in with Good Country Physiotherapy to get assessed?

This week our team of physiotherapists gathered in person and online to learn more about reading and interpreting musculoskeletal imaging.

Our guest speaker was Melbourne-based Sport & Exercise Physiotherapist Zac Southern, who took us through some tips and tricks on X-rays, CT scans and MRIs.

Our patients commonly present with these investigations and their findings don’t always correlate with their clinical presentation. Making sense of imaging helps us to help our patients and collaborate with other medical professionals such as GPs and specialists involved with their care. 🧑‍⚕️ 👩‍⚕️

This means better care, and better outcomes for our patients! That’s our mission - On your team, working together, for your health! 💪

Thanks for a great session Zac (pictured with some of our team). 👏
