📢 Reminder of the AusAlert national test at 2:00 PM AEST today.

The Australian Government is running a national test of the new emergency warning system.

If you have a compatible mobile phone, tablet, or smartwatch, you will receive a test message around 2:00 PM AEST (1:30 PM ACST in SA/NT, 12:00 PM AWST in WA).

For anyone with sensory sensitivities, be aware that your phone will make a loud siren and vibrate for 10 seconds - even if your phone is set to silent or do not disturb – and a message will light up on the phone’s screen.

No action is needed. This is just a test.

If you prefer not to experience the test, you can turn your phone off of set it to 'flight mode'

🚲✨ Pedaling toward new milestones! ✨🚲

There is nothing quite like the rush of wind, the feel of the pavement, and that magical moment when balance clicks into place. Today during our 1:1 support session, our amazing participant took on a brand-new challenge: mastering bike-riding skills!

With patience, teamwork, and plenty of encouragement, we worked on building confidence, steering, and coordination at every turn. Learning a new physical skill isn’t just about the ride—it’s about growing independence, stepping outside the comfort zone, and celebrating every single wobble and breakthrough along the way.

We are so proud of the dedication and focus shown today. That first independent roll forward is a victory we won’t forget anytime soon! 💜

Celebrating NAIDOC Week 2026 ❤️💛🖤

From 5 to 12 July, we acknowledge and celebrate the history, culture, strength and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year’s theme, 50 Years of Deadly, honor’s five decades of NAIDOC celebrations and the powerful stories, voices and contributions that continue to shape our communities.

At Glorious Disability Support Services, we recognize the importance of connection, culture, respect and inclusion, today and every day.

STR has now reverted back to the name STA (Short-term accommodation).

Short-term accommodation (STA) gives NDIS participants (persons with a significant and permanent disability) time away from their usual care arrangements. This can include family, friends or other carers.

From 1 July 2026, a new STA pricing schedule was released to guide participants claims for the support and accommodation received. Separate line items are now necessary to be listed on invoices.

This replaces the previous fixed daily rate.

The new pricing schedule separates STA claims into three parts:

accommodation costs
accommodation costs for supports
support worker hours (labour).
