40 years as a cricket pitch curator, then a shoulder injury took that away.

At 64, Timothy figured work wasn't in the cards anymore. His job coach Michele believed otherwise, and connected him with us. We built a role around him instead of squeezing him into one that already existed. Now he's our Admin and Marketing Coordinator, growing his hours, his skills and his confidence week by week.

One of the most meaningful parts of community participation is getting to be part of something bigger than yourself. 🖤💛❤️

This NAIDOC Week, we're celebrating "The Next Generation: Strength, Vision & Legacy", and we're encouraging all our participants to get out, connect, and be part of the celebrations happening across the country.

At USS, community participation means supporting our participants to access the activities and events that matter to them, including the ones that celebrate culture, identity, and belonging.

Whether that's attending a local NAIDOC event, a community gathering, or simply spending time connecting with others, community looks different for every person. And that's exactly the point.

Support without a plan is like pouring coffee and missing the cup entirely. ☕

It happens more than you'd think. Someone gets their NDIS funding approved and then the real stress kicks in, what now? Who do I call? How does this actually work?

That's where we come in. At USS, we don't just provide support workers and send you on your way. We sit down with you, understand your goals, your routine, your life, and we build a plan around all of it.

Because support that's not planned properly doesn't really support anyone.
