Every minute counts when it comes to stroke. Recognising the signs early and calling 000 immediately can save lives and reduce the impact of disability.

The F.A.S.T. test can help you identify the most common signs of stroke:

F - Face: Has their face dropped on one side? Can they smile?
A - Arms: Can they lift both arms?
S - Speech: Is their speech slurred or difficult to understand?
T - Time: Time is critical. Call 000 immediately.

During National Stroke Week (3 - 9 August 2026), take a moment to learn the signs of stroke and share them with your family, friends and colleagues. Knowing F.A.S.T. could help save a life.

Today we marked World Brain Day 2026 promoting Brain Health: Access for All. The message was clear – Brain health must be valued, protected and prioritised.

Thank you to Dr Len Collard, Minister Meredith Hammat MLA, Professor Merrilee Needham and Dr Linda Friedland for your insightful presentations and to everyone who joined us, contributed and continues to champion better outcomes for people affected by brain and nervous system conditions.

Today is World Brain Day 🧠

The theme for 2026 is Brain Health: Access for All.

Access means more than appointments; it means information, prevention, early diagnosis, local treatment, coordinated care and community connection.

Every Western Australian could benefit from knowing how brain health can be protected and strengthened across the lifespan, and how to access support when they need it, so people living with neurological conditions — and their families and carers — are not left to navigate the clinical implications and complex systems alone.

Brain health matters. Access matters. Everyone deserves the right information, care and support when they need it.

This Wednesday is World Brain Day 🧠

This year’s theme is Brain Health: Access for All - because everyone deserves the right to protect their brain function and access neurological care and support when they need it.

This World Brain Day, we are calling for better awareness and prevention, earlier diagnosis, early intervention and more equitable access to treatment, rehabilitation, care and support for all Western Australians.

And we’re asking all Western Australians to value and learn how to protect their brain.
We all have a role to play in advancing our brain health.

🤝 Bunbury, we’re excited to meet you!

Peer support can make a world of difference. Connecting with others who understand the challenges, experiences and triumphs of living with a neurological condition can help reduce isolation, build confidence and create a sense of community.

That’s why we’re bringing NeuFriends to Bunbury and the South West region - creating a welcoming space where people living with neurological conditions, their families and carers can connect, share experiences and support one another.

Join us for the launch of our new Bunbury NeuFriends Neurological Support Group and be part of a growing network of people who understand that no one should have to navigate their journey alone.

As we celebrate National NAIDOC Week 2026 (5–12 July) we reflect on this year's theme, "50 Years of Deadly", honouring five decades of NAIDOC Week, a time dedicated to amplifying and celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and cultures.

NAIDOC Week is an opportunity for all Australians to learn, listen and celebrate the rich histories, cultures and contributions of First Nations peoples. We encourage everyone to take part in local community events, connect with culture and reflect on the shared journey towards understanding, respect and reconciliation.
