Nelson Bay Health Foods has been a part of the local community for 40yrs!
I have been a part of this local shop when I brought the business 11yrs ago.
My amazing team and I have grown the business to include a Herbal Clinc and Dispensary along with a healthy cafe & online shop!
Moving the shop from the cascade mall to the main street 8 years ago has also helped many new customers find us.

✨ Homemade Elderberry Gummies ✨

Looking for a delicious way to enjoy your daily elderberry? These homemade gummies are simple to make and are perfect for the whole family.

🍇 You’ll need:
• ½ cup elderberry extract or syrup
• 2–3 tbsp raw honey (adjust to taste)
• 3 tbsp grass-fed gelatin
• Optional: 1 tsp vitamin C powder or fresh lemon juice

Directions:
1️⃣ Gently warm the elderberry extract (don’t boil).
2️⃣ Stir in the honey until dissolved.
3️⃣ Slowly whisk in the gelatin until completely smooth.
4️⃣ Pour into silicone moulds.
5️⃣ Refrigerate for 30–60 minutes until set.
6️⃣ Store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.

Elderberry is a great source of vitamin C along with antioxidants, traditionally used to support the immune system, it has been found to reduce the duration of colds and flu symptoms especially when taken within 24hrs of first symptoms.

As many of you know our wonderful Ella hasn’t been in the shop for a few months… I have been putting off this post as she was going to continue to do some weekends however the way life works her path has changed and she has full time work with her partner Jason and I am very happy for her as she starts her next chapter….

There is so much I am grateful for having worked with Ella for over 9 years…
It’s amazing how things work out in life and when Julie and I were saying how we needed more staff back in 2016, I mentioned wouldn’t Ella be great (She would be in as a customer most weeks) she walked in the door at that moment and heard me say her name… so I asked her would you be interested in working in the shop and she replied yes! The rest is history.
Her smiling face and giving nature has always welcomed our customers and everyone loves her, I am so grateful for her support and dedication to the business it has been a journey from moving from the old location and helping to evolve the new one.
We miss her immensely but wish her all the happiness she deserves.
Thank you Ella for serving the community with endless care and support.
