Kristina Gula is a volunteer at the Nerang Neighbourhood Centre, where she spends Thursday mornings helping pack food boxes for families in need. 🧡

The organisation is entirely funded by donations and volunteers, supporting more than 250 families each week across the Gold Coast, with no local government funding.

Local businesses in Nerang, along with OzHarvest, Rotary, Lighthouse and many others, help make this work possible. It highlights just how many families rely on this support, and how important this work continues to be.

Last week, the Somerville Funerals team had the privilege of representing our funeral home at the Gold Coast Social Work Expo.

They were encouraged by the strong engagement from social workers and students, especially the interest in prepaid funerals and how planning ahead can support families with confidence.

We also received many requests for facility tours, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to Somerville Funerals and Allambe Memorial Park soon.

A special thank‑you to Roses Only for donating the beautiful Bright Native Chapel Bowl.

To all mums: present, past and forever remembered, we honour you.

So proud of our Somerville Southport ladies, Alison Bruhn and Amanda Watters, who lovingly prepared Mother’s Day gift packs and delivered them to local nursing homes for women who may not have someone special in their lives.

There was a wonderful hive of activity as they created and packed these thoughtful gifts, bringing warmth, care and connection to our elderly community this Mother’s Day.

A beautiful reminder of how small acts of kindness can make a big difference.

ANZAC Day at Benowa State High School

It was a genuine honour to attend the ANZAC Day service at Benowa State High School today. Standing alongside students, dedicated teachers and members of the local community, we came together to reflect on the legacy of those who served and sacrificed for our country.

Seeing the younger generation engage so thoughtfully and respectfully with our national history was truly moving. The ceremony was a heartfelt tribute to the ANZAC spirit; a reminder of the courage, resilience and sacrifice that continue to shape our community.

Lest we forget. 🌹

🧡A lovely morning at Hillview Aged Care today for an ANZAC Day Eve service for the residents. Always very well received.
