Saying goodbye to our family home felt like losing my parents all over again.
Grief doesn’t end when the funeral is over. Sometimes it continues in all that comes after.
I kissed our family home goodbye🥹
I placed my hand against her walls and thanked her for holding, sheltering and protecting us for so many years for the love, laughter, tears and ordinary days, and for always giving us somewhere to come home to.
She was never just bricks and timber. She held our life.
And until you’ve carried the last of it, you keep carrying what you must…
until the time finally comes
to put it all down
and begin again. ❤️
I’m taking the next few weeks for myself and my family, so I’ll be a little quiet here. I’ll be back to messages when I return.
For now, I’m simply allowing myself to be. ❤️
