What is MCAS?
MCAS is a medical condition where immune cells called mast cells become overly active and release chemicals that cause severe, repeated allergy-like symptoms.
Mast cells are part of your immune system, but when they start overreacting and releasing inflammatory mediators too easily, it can cause a whole range of symptoms. People with MCAS often experience:
Chronic fatigue and brain fog
Gastrointestinal issues (bloating, diarrhoea, reflux)
Flushing, rashes, and itching
Headaches and migraines
Anxiety and heart palpitations
Reactions to foods, stress, or environmental triggers

The tricky part? MCAS is often missed or attributed to something else such as allergies, IBS or anxiety.
Our new Integrative GP Dr Jess works with MCAS patients, she's interested in understanding why your mast cells are activated. Is it your gut microbiome? Chronic stress? Environmental exposures? Nutritional deficiencies? She will then address those root causes. If you'd like to know more about working with Dr Jess please reach out to Reception on 4077 3803.

What is Personalised Nutrition? Personalised nutrition moves beyond one size fits all dietary advice by using microbiome testing to map your individual gut bacteria profile and identify which specific foods will benefit your unique biology. As a microbiome analyst, Cody Kennedy can provide you with a personalised food list based on your microbiome composition identifying the foods and nutrients that will help cultivate beneficial bacteria strains and support your health goals. By understanding your species-level microbial profile, research shows we can make targeted dietary recommendations to reduce inflammation, elevate mood, strengthen immune function, and support cognitive health. Rather than guessing which foods work best for your body, personalised nutrition uses science-backed microbiome data to create a precise roadmap for nourishing the bacteria that nourish you. Maybe it’s something you’ve been quietly wondering for months.
Maybe your child struggles with friendships, has intense reactions to change, becomes overwhelmed by sounds or textures, or seems to hold everything together at school before falling apart at home.
Or perhaps you’ve simply noticed that your child experiences the world differently.
Autism doesn’t look the same in every child. Some signs are obvious. Others can be subtle, easily misunderstood, or missed altogether, particularly in girls and children who have learned to mask their difficulties.
We’ve written a new blog to help parents understand some of the signs of autism and where to begin if something doesn’t feel quite right.

You don’t need to have all the answers before reaching out. Sometimes, noticing that something feels different is enough to start a conversation.
