Dr Kirstin Miteff felt privileged to be part of a dedicated team that helped transform lives through life-changing surgery.

“Seeing all the beautiful smiles, and the happiness of children and parents who are so grateful that we can help make their children whole again.”

The mission also provided key professional highlights, with Dr Miteff noting that discussions with other consultants on surgical techniques, along with educating nursing staff and fellow surgeons, was incredibly rewarding.

“It is so enriching and rewarding working together to help these children.”

The mission involved:

Hello from the Philippines! 🇵🇭 Dr Miteff is excited to be volunteering with Operation Smile Philippines - Cebu Center of Excellence.

During the 2 week mission she’ll be performing life-changing cleft surgeries for children, and supporting local surgeons by sharing skills and mentoring—helping to strengthen cleft care in the region for the long term.

She feels truly honored to be part of this incredible mission—bringing hope to families, transforming lives, and contributing to education and training that will leave a lasting impact. 💙

Today, I want to take a moment to celebrate the incredible women I have the privilege of knowing every day at Aspire.

To my patients: your courage inspires me. Facing breast cancer, going through reconstruction, or making deeply personal choices about your body takes so much strength. Walking alongside you, helping restore confidence, comfort, and wholeness, is more than a job—it’s an absolute honour.

Today is BRA Day – Breast Reconstruction Awareness Day 🩵 At The Aspire Home, we welcomed our patients with a BRA — a small gesture to start a big conversation about the options available to women after a mastectomy.

Every woman deserves to know her options. We encourage women and their doctors to have these conversations early so that every woman can make an informed, empowered decision that’s right for her.

Breast reconstruction aims to rebuild your breast(s) after a mastectomy due to breast cancer or risk-reduction surgery. In some cases, reconstruction can be performed at the same time as the mastectomy, allowing the breast surgeon and plastic surgeon to work together to achieve the best possible result.

No matter the choice—reconstruction or staying flat—the most important thing is that you feel informed, supported, and confident in your decision.
