We’re proud to support Jeans for Genes Day 💙👖

This August, join thousands of Australians wearing denim and raising funds for life-saving medical research 🧬

For the families of the 1 in 20 children facing a birth defect or genetic disease, words like “incurable” and “lifelong effects” can become part of everyday life. But with continued research, it doesn’t have to stay that way.

Funds raised through Jeans for Genes support scientists at Children’s Medical Research Institute as they work on treatments and cures for genetic diseases, helping more kids get back to simply being kids.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend and former long-term team member, Gary Stanes.

Gary was a familiar and much-loved face within the John Hunter Hospital community. Alongside his wife Sharon, they previously owned the Kookaburra Cafe, where so many staff, patients and visitors came to know their warmth, kindness and friendly nature.

To us, Gary was more than a former colleague. He was a treasured friend and an important part of the Doc’s Pharmacy story. His presence, humour and genuine care for others left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Our heartfelt love and condolences go to Sharon, Gary’s family, friends and the wider hospital community during this incredibly difficult time.

Gary will be very sadly missed and fondly remembered.
