Support Worker Opportunity | Holistic Care Therapy
📍 Lake Macquarie & Newcastle
⏱️ 12+ hours per week (with growth opportunities)

At Holistic Care Therapy, we deliver high-quality, person-centred supports that truly make a difference. We ensure our participants feel empowered, respected, safe, and supported to achieve their goals and live meaningful lives.

We’re looking for someone who embodies what great support looks like:
• Reliable and consistent – our participants depend on you
• Compassionate, patient, and genuinely caring
• A strong communicator who listens and adapts
• Observant and proactive in understanding needs
• Professional with a positive, can-do attitude
• Committed to promoting independence and dignity
• Confident supporting both in-home and community access

Consistency is one of our highest priorities.
We ensure participants have a familiar, stable support team — unfamiliar workers do not attend shifts.

Because of this, reliability and the ability to maintain a consistent roster is essential. If you can’t provide this level of commitment, we may not be the right fit.

Our participants deserve to feel safe, comfortable, and confident in their supports — and we take that seriously.

In return, we provide rosters 3+ months in advance, offering stability and predictability.

We’re seeking someone self-motivated, proactive, and willing to truly understand each participant.

What you’ll get in return:
• A supportive, values-driven NDIS registered provider
• A team that values your experience and contribution
• Opportunities for growth and increased hours
• A close-knit, passionate team environment

Our participants and team mean everything to us. We value:
• High-quality, person-centred care
• Meaningful relationships
• Supporting individuals to achieve their goals
• Inclusive, positive environments
• Making a genuine impact

If you care deeply, show up consistently, and want meaningful work — we’d love to hear from you.

This week we sat in a multidisciplinary meeting supporting a participant alongside a speech pathologist, occupational therapist and behaviour support practitioner.

Each clinician came with their own expertise.

🌟The OT was focusing on sensory regulation.

🌟The speech pathologist was supporting communication.

🌟The behaviour support practitioner was looking at the behaviours that occurred when those needs weren’t met.

Individually, each professional had an important piece of the puzzle. 🧩

But when we brought those perspectives together, the picture became much clearer.

When behaviours occur, they can mean many different things.

✅It might be a communication breakdown the speech pathologist recognises.
✅A sensory threshold the OT understands.
✅A response to stress or unmet needs the behaviour practitioner is exploring.

This is why Positive Behaviour Support works best when it is collaborative by design.

The PBS practitioners we respect most don’t work in isolation. They:
• Speak with the OT before writing strategies
• Read the speech pathology reports
• Ask the support worker team “What are you seeing?”

When allied health professionals collaborate, the outcomes are stronger for everyone.

Participants receive more meaningful and effective support.
Families get clearer, consistent strategies.
And providers ensure NDIS plans and funding are used in the most effective, best-practice way possible.🩵

At Holistic Care Therapy, collaboration across our multidisciplinary team is at the centre of how we support participants.

Because the best outcomes happen when we work better together.

Celebrating 1 Year of Holistic Care Therapy!

What a year it has been.

Over the past 12 months we’ve had the privilege of supporting incredible participants and families, and it has been an honour to walk alongside them as they work towards their goals, independence and meaningful outcomes.

Together with our team and professional network, we’ve built something we are truly proud of.

Some milestones from our first year include:

✨ 5 Independent Living Options (ILO) homes successfully established and running smoothly. These homes are supported by an incredible team of dedicated support workers providing daily supports, personal care and community access.

✨ Community and in-home support services, delivered by our passionate and caring support worker team who support participants with daily living, community participation and building independence.

✨ The growth of our Short Term Accommodation (respite) services and our wonderful partnership with Quest Newcastle, allowing us to provide comfortable, supportive and flexible respite options for participants and families.

✨ The growth of our Allied Health team, now including 10 highly experienced Occupational Therapists delivering high-quality assessments, therapy and NDIS-informed supports.

✨ Psychology services supporting participants with therapeutic intervention and assessments.

✨ Our Dietitian, who creates practical and engaging visual nutrition plans and resources for participants and their care teams.

✨ The expansion of Social Work services, supporting participants and families with advocacy, psychosocial supports, system navigation and strengthening community connections.

✨ The addition of Physiotherapy and Speech Therapy, strengthening our multidisciplinary approach to participant care.

✨ The introduction of Positive Behaviour Support services, with practitioners developing evidence-based interim and comprehensive behaviour support plans while supporting teams and families to implement strategies in everyday environments.

✨ NDIS Registration in November 2025, a significant milestone representing quality, accountability and our commitment to best practice supports.

✨ The incredible network of Support Coordinators we have the privilege of working alongside, all sharing the same goal , achieving the best outcomes for participants.

Running a business in the NDIS space can be challenging, but the passion and commitment Darren and I have for the people we support has never wavered.

To our team, participants, families and professional networks , thank you for being part of this journey.

Look at what we’ve built together.
And we can’t wait to see what the next year brings.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
