Training is serious stuff, we promise!

Infection prevention and control is one of our key tools to keep both our patients and ourselves safe.

Our CP Michelle had great delight in placing some strategic testing through a powder and shaving cream to test our donning and doffing skills along with our hand hygiene. The UV light highlighted the ease with with cross-contamination can occur.
We also reviewed updated Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPG’s) and worked a broken leg simulation (sorry you got hit by the car Gary!) from onsite treatment, through to handover and then the paperwork.

We continually work on skills to learn and improve so we can provide you best practice care when required.

Newdegate Sub Centre Update
We’ve still got a bit happening with our new digs refurbishment.
We’re still a bit sluggish telling everyone about it . . . sorry!
A massive shout out to Roy and Toby Grist, Grist & Co Earthmoving, who have fantastically come in and transformed our drive ins and car park area with levelling and cracker dust topping, mud proofing our entire working area. We couldn’t have asked for anything more, and to top it off Roy and Toby have donated over half their time to get the job done! Amazing! Thank you so much!
The same also goes to Max Maisey’s both Senior and Junior (Max and Jacko to those in the know) for carting many, many tonnes of gravel in and doing the initial levelling prep to enable us the save a significant amount over the whole job. Thank you both so much again!
Guy Mouritz, from RED - Ritz Exterior Design - has come in and expoxied our drive thru ambulance bay, and it has come up a treat.
Thanks Guy.
To top it off, Shane, from 4 Rivers Plumbing, Ravensthorpe, had a couple of guys in the area and came in to finish off a long term plumbing job, and donated entire job at no cost to our Sub Centre.
Huge thanks to Tom and Billie, and to Shane for your generosity!
We are very lucky to have high class tradesman in our area, and even luckier that they are prepared to contribute to our Tiny But Mighty Sub Centre!
That’s Holly’s new catch phrase by the way! Love it Holly!
Thank you all again!

🚑 Be Ready When It Matters Most
First Aid Course on Friday 16th October 2026.

Emergencies can happen anytime, anywhere — at work, at home, or in the community. Having the skills and confidence to respond could make all the difference.

Learn practical, life-saving skills including:
• CPR and AED use
• Managing wounds, burns, and injuries
• Responding to choking, asthma, and allergic reactions
• Basic emergency response procedures

💡 Why is a First Aid qualification so important?
A First Aid certificate doesn’t just tick a box — it empowers you to act quickly in critical situations, potentially saving a life before professional help arrives. Many workplaces also require up-to-date First Aid training to ensure a safe environment for everyone. Remember summer won't be that far away either if you would like to utilise our community swimming pool.

✅ Our upcoming First Aid course is now open for bookings!

🚑🚑 International Paramedics Day 🚑🚑

We are so very lucky to have the support of our amazing Community Paramedic (CP) Michelle.

As a volunteer crew it is reassuring to have access to and the support of CP’s like Michelle when we come out to help our community. We have also been fortunate to have some great super subs for Michelle when she gets a moment to herself - shout out to Alecia and Adrian!

Happy International Paramedics Days, and thanks for all that you do!

Our team at the Newdegate Sub Centre are always looking for ways to improve our resources to better help our community.

Connectivity is one of our challenges when covering the area we do. We value being able to be in touch with our Command centres and being able to transmit information from our machines in a timely manner. Our connectivity issues were further highlighted during this year’s Dunn Rock fires which started our StarLink project.

Enter the amazing Excel Farms, who wanted to make a donation. This donation stretched from a cash donation to being enough to cover our StarLink Hardware and mount, that now holds pride of place atop of the van. We are also able to use this connection when we are training so it really is used year round.

Thanks so much to Carol for reaching out and giving us a helping hand, we really appreciate your support.
