NourishLife Chinese Medicine

NourishLife Chinese Medicine Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine for Fertility and Pain Management. Since 2007 If you have any questions regarding your own issues, please feel free to ask.

Meet Dr Tia Bhana-Williams, graduated from Victoria University in 2007 with a double degree in Acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. Pain:

Dr Bhana-Williams loves to work on pain and uses an extremely effective balancing technique which sees pain lessen on the table, at the session. Traditional Chinese Medicine sees pain as energy that is stuck, and as such this treatment will move energy to

ease pain. Come in for help if you are suffering from musculoskeletal issues, nerve pain, sciatica, and lower back pain, to endometriosis and digestive pain. Whether you've had it for an hour or 25 years, sharp or numb, tingly or pins and needles, this method can help you to lead a pain free existence. Fertility:

Dr Bhana-Williams also offers nourishing, supportive treatments geared towards helping singles and couples to enhance their fertility. She applies the same kind of balancing treatment which moves energy at the reproductive organs, and also herbal medicine individually formulated especially for each person. If you are considering starting a family, or are looking at being pain free (or all of the above) acupuncture and herbal treatments with Dr Bhana-Williams can help you to achieve these things. It is also worth nothing that although Dr Bhana-Williams has an affinity for working with pain and fertility, Chinese Medicine is a dynamic and useful modality which can be used and adapted to many different issues. She is always available. You will walk out feeling very different, be empowered to make the change.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), the concept of “forbidden acupuncture points” refers to specific acupuncture points that could be avoided during early pregnancy. Points such as LI4, SP6, BL60, GB21, and bladder 67 are commonly the ones we watch out for or avoid during early (1st trimester) pregnancy because they have strong effects that influence uterine activity. However in later stages some points can be useful and it’s perfectly safe to use some of these points for other things. It’s case by case for sure, but acupuncture is very safe for use in pregnancy

Labour induction is an induction and it doesn’t matter who does it, whether its someone like me as an acupuncturist or in a hospital setting .
If the energy isn’t there, it’s like pushing sh*t uphill and the body won’t do it.

I cannot recreate the wheel, but what I can do is encourage what is already about to go to actually BEGIN.

When I started practising I used to be all about using all the points to soften and open, now I’m finding that its less about that and more about helping mothers to feel ready, calm, relaxed and empowered, she’s the one that starts things ultimately

Thats more my focus now, supporting my amazing mothers to understand that they are PORTALS, actual GODS, and getting them to understand that. The rest of it just seems to happen after that.

Oh there’s also a bit of birth training, sacral massage, partner involvement and meditation work that goes on too. It all helps!

If you want my help
I have space for you. Ideally I’ll see you at 35 weeks, but if you’re 40 weeks, come

Tia

PCOS is now PMOS which tells us it is an all over body issue, not just about ovaries.
PMOS is not neccesarily DEAL BREAKER
meaning- you can still have a baby, if that is what you want.

Does this complicate things a LITTLE bit? YES
But; can it still happen? ALSO: YES

There are 2 types of PMOS
PMOS SYNDROME:
1. Insulin resistance- this means sugar stays in your system longer than usual and can create inflammation which messes every thing up and can cause weight gain.
2. Excess androgens which can cause hair growth in unusual places, and possibly acne.
3. Unreleased Follicles in the ovaries which look like chocolate cysts, this upsets your hormonal reaction and will lead to long cycles, and a long period of time between ovulation

And there*s the other type.
PMOS
1. Unexpressed eggs that make your cycles long and unpredictable, but none of the other symptoms.

This is thought to be from taking the contraception pill for a long period but in practice, the “why” of it can remain a mystery. Call now and ask what we do for PCOS in clinic

In Clinic what will we do?
++understand when you are actually ovulating. via bbt charting and investigations
++put you on a herbal and supplement to strengthen you.
++make sure all your blood work is in range so that you have the building blocks to be able to ovulate.
++teach you to understand how your body works.
‘++help you to feel some control over what is happening with your body. Mob 0439 841 423

Or CO Q 10 @ 600 mg per day Great for cardiovascular health, and supporting mitochindrial health (which has been shown to encourage embryo growth on implantation)
