Dry needling is an evidence-based technique used by our chiropractors to help reduce pain and restore muscle function.

A very fine sterile needle is inserted into tight areas of muscle called trigger points. This can help reduce muscle tension, improve blood flow and stimulate the nervous system to decrease pain. Often a small muscle twitch occurs, helping the muscle relax and reset.

Conditions Dry Needling May Help

• Neck and back pain
• Shoulder pain
• Headaches
• Tennis elbow
• Hip and gluteal pain
• Achilles pain
• Plantar fasciitis

Dry needling works best when combined with rehabilitation exercises and proper movement of the surrounding joints including the spine.

If you’re dealing with persistent muscle pain or tightness, dry needling may be a good option! Our chiropractors Will, Bronty and Amos use dry needling- to book online head to www.launcestonchiropractic.com.au or call the Newstead clinic on 6331 8898.

The common belief that running “wears out” your knees isn’t supported by current research. Longitudinal studies show recreational running is not associated with higher rates of knee osteoarthritis — and may even be protective.

Movement stimulates synovial fluid production, which nourishes cartilage and supports joint health. In other words, appropriately loaded joints tend to adapt positively.

As with any physical activity, outcomes depend on:
• Gradual load progression
• Adequate recovery
• Individual injury history
• Overall capacity

This is where chiropractic and remedial massage care can play a supportive role. And we’ve got plenty of our staff who love to run!!!

Restricted joint mobility in the hips, ankles or spine can alter how load is transferred through the knee. Chiropractic care aims to optimise joint motion and biomechanics, helping distribute forces more efficiently during running.

Remedial massage can assist by reducing muscular tension, improving circulation, supporting recovery and addressing soft tissue imbalances that may contribute to knee discomfort.

When training is sensible and progressive — and movement quality is supported — running can absolutely be a joint-friendly activity.

If knee pain is limiting you, a comprehensive chiropractic assessment can help optimise load, technique, strength and recovery so you can keep moving confidently.

We are here to help you move well 🏃
