Not the goal.
You already know the goal.

Weight loss. Better sleep. Back into training.
The bit most dads over 50 skip is figuring out what’s actually blocking it.
And most of the time the first answer isn’t specific enough.

It’s not time. It’s that work runs late three days a week and by the time you’re home the window’s gone.

It’s not food. It’s that you leave the house at 5:30 with nothing prepped and whatever’s closest wins by default.

It’s not sleep. It’s that you’re still answering emails in bed at 10pm and your brain doesn’t know how to switch off.

Same category. Completely different block. Completely different fix.

Some of those you can remove entirely.
Some you just have to plan around, because the constraint isn’t going anywhere.
Either way it starts with naming the actual thing.
Not the vague version.
The real one.

This is exactly the process behind the Better Man Upgrade.
Current intake is close to full.

If you’re interested in the next one comment UPGRADE and I’ll send you the details.

The ViPR shovel is the work part.
Lower body driving the movement. Core connecting what’s below to what’s above. The load moving through a pattern that asks everything to work at once.

This is the work section.

Then the dislocate.
Not more work.
Something different.
The band or the stick moving through a full arc from front to back. Slow. Controlled. The body moving through range rather than being asked to produce force.
It feels completely different to what came before.

Most sessions are entirely one kind of demand.
Hard. Loaded. The body producing force until the session ends.

Adding a movement that asks for something different changes the feel of the whole session.
Not easier.
More complete.

Challenge followed by movement through range. Work followed by something that feels like the opposite of work.
Same session. Not a compromise. A complete one.

The best session isn’t just the one that challenges you. It’s the one that leaves you better than it found you.

Client observations.
1-2 formed thoughts.
Things I’m testing on myself before I’d ever put them in a proper post.
Most of it never gets seen.

Not because it doesn’t work but because it doesn’t fit the format, it’s too specific. Or I only realised it was worth sharing at 6am mid session and never got round to turning it into a Reel.
So I’ve started an Instagram channel for exactly that.

This is the stuff that slips through the cracks.
The pattern I keep seeing in dads I coach.
The thing that actually worked for a client this week.
The quick thought that isn’t worth a whole post but might change how you think about your training tomorrow.

If you’re a dad over 50 trying to move the needle on your health, this is closer to how I actually think as a coach than anything you see in a normal feed post.

I’m definitely not going to bombard you.
Every few days. Only when it’s worth your time.

Join the channel. Link’s in my bio.

The most honest training tool you own weighs nothing.

These two movements prove it.

The front kick through asks the body to solve a problem most training never presents.
Close to the ground. Thread one leg through the gap created by the opposite hand and foot. Get there. Get back.

Hip mobility to find the position. Core to hold the transition together. Lower body strength to make it happen.

No bar. No machine. Just the body being asked to perform.

Then the cross leg to stand.
From the floor to standing through a position most men haven’t visited in years.

The hips finding the range. The core organising the movement. The coordination to sequence it without grinding through it.

Again.
Just the body.

Lifting heavy and moving your own body well are different capabilities.
Both matter.
Neither replaces the other.

But most programs after 50 develop one and leave the other alone.

These movements are for the other one.

The positions that require coordination and control through ranges most training never visits.
Not harder.
Different.

And after 50 having more movement options available is worth training for.

If you want a free bodyweight program built around movements like these comment BODYWEIGHT and I’ll send it to you privately.
