Meet Katrina, one of our wonderful exercise physiologists who has been running hydrotherapy classes here at Noosa Hospital since 2021 🏊

Her favourite part of her job is getting to know her patients and seeing them form great friendships with each other.

"Last week a few clients were heading out for lunch together after their pool session to celebrate one of their 92nd birthdays!"

Being from Victoria, she (unsurprisingly) says the best thing about living in Noosa is the weather!

Katrina sees patients for chronic pain, after surgeries or joint replacements, cardiac rehabilitation, rehab after injury, and general strength and wellbeing.

"Exercising in the water is such a great way to get moving, and the reward of finishing with a spa at the end of the session helps keep everyone motivated."

Interested in hydrotherapy? Call our allied health team on 54559224 for more information.

We are very proud to partner with Coolum State High School to offer placement opportunities for Year 12 Assistant in Nursing (AIN) students.

A huge congratulations to everyone who achieved their qualification and completed 80 hours of clinical placement.

Our team loves supporting and inspiring the next generation of healthcare professionals, and it's been a privilege to welcome these students to Noosa Hospital and watch their confidence, compassion and skills grow throughout their placement.

Well done to every student on this wonderful achievement - the future of healthcare is in great hands!

We recently welcomed three nurses to our Professional Pathways Program here at Noosa Hospital, designed to support nurses transitioning from non-acute clinical care areas into acute care practice.

Alongside participants from Nambour Selangor Private Hospital, the nurses undertake 120 hours of clinical training, providing valuable opportunities to build confidence and competence in the acute care environment.

As part of the program, they attended an intensive week of workshops and practical learning sessions, refreshing and expanding their knowledge across a range of clinical areas.

The enthusiasm, engagement and commitment demonstrated throughout the week was outstanding. We look forward to supporting the group as they continue their transition into acute care and wish them every success in their ongoing professional development.

Congratulations to Dr Stuart Collins, urologist here at Noosa Private Hospital, who spoke at this year's Noosa Prostate Association fundraiser, which raised over $200,000 for the Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia.

Dr Collins shared insights into the importance of early diagnosis and the latest advances in prostate cancer treatment. He also spoke about NanoKnife® technology, a minimally invasive treatment option for selected prostate cancer patients that can target cancerous tissue while preserving surrounding healthy structures.

Available at only a select number of centres across Australia, access to this advanced technology in Noosa means eligible patients can receive treatment locally rather than travelling to Brisbane or other major centres.

The Sunshine Coast deserves quality care, delivered locally. That's why we made 'Keeping Care Close to Home' the theme of our 2026 GP Conference.

As our region continues to grow, collaboration across our healthcare community has never been more important.

We brought together more than 80 GPs, specialists and healthcare partners from across the region, making it our largest turnout to date.

Thank you to the 20 specialist speakers who shared their expertise, our sponsors, and the GPs who spent their Saturday with us.

We are very happy to announce the launch of our new Respiratory Outpatient Clinic and Rehabilitation Program here at Noosa Hospital.

It’s designed to support patients living with chronic lung conditions by improving their physical capacity, confidence, and overall quality of life.

Led by respiratory specialist Professor Amy Rigby, the program is accepting patients living with a range of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, asthma, lung cancer and more.

“Having access to specialised respiratory services locally means people in the Noosa community can receive high-quality, comprehensive care without needing to travel far from home,” she said.
