There is something incredibly special about witnessing someone leave feeling lighter than when they arrived.

This beautiful reflection captures exactly what I hoped to create when I introduced Floating Sound Baths — a space to pause, let go and simply receive.

Thank you to everyone who has trusted me with their wellbeing and stepped into the hammock with an open heart 🤍

Every experience is unique, yet the intention remains the same:

Emotional safety is something we often feel… before we can explain it.

It’s the difference between:
holding everything inside
or feeling safe enough to soften.

When people feel emotionally safe, the nervous system doesn’t have to stay in protection mode all the time.

Safety might look like:
• being listened to without immediate fixing
• knowing emotions are welcome
• having boundaries held calmly
• repair after conflict
• feeling accepted without needing to mask

This is especially important for children and neurodivergent individuals, who are often navigating environments where they feel misunderstood, corrected, or “too much.”

Emotional safety doesn’t mean life becomes free from challenge.

It means someone knows

“I don’t have to face this alone.”

We’ve all said it…
“I’m fine.”

But sometimes FINE really means

Feeling Inside, Not Expressing.

The smile is there.
The conversation continues.
Life goes on.
Yet beneath the surface may be worry, sadness, overwhelm, grief, disappointment, loneliness, or exhaustion.
Many of us learnt to keep going. To stay strong. To not burden others. To put everyone else’s needs before our own.
But emotions don’t disappear simply because they’re not spoken. They often find other ways to be heard through stress, anxiety, tension, irritability, fatigue, or feeling disconnected from ourselves.

What if, instead of saying “I’m fine,” we became curious?

What am I really feeling right now?
What do I need?
Who feels safe enough to share this with?

You don’t have to carry everything alone.
You don’t have to be FINE all the time.
❤️

June is Men’s Health Month.

When we think about health, we often focus on the physical side of things. We exercise, eat well and try to stay active.

But what about mental fitness?

Just as we train our bodies, our minds benefit from opportunities to slow down, recover and reset.

Many men spend their days carrying responsibilities, solving problems and supporting those around them, often without creating space for themselves.

That’s why I offer a dedicated Men’s Floating Sound Bath each month.

A small group experience designed to provide a calm and welcoming space where there is nothing to achieve, fix or perform.

Just an opportunity to rest, float and listen.

Mental wellbeing isn’t only about seeking support when things are difficult. It’s also about creating regular practices that help us stay well.

Because looking after your wellbeing is a strength, not a weakness.

This morning I welcomed another beautiful soul into the studio for a private floating sound bath.

What I loved most was hearing how she found me.

Not through a recommendation.Not through a therapist.Not through a friend.

Simply while searching for interesting things to do on the Central Coast.

And that’s exactly what a floating sound bath is.

A little unexpected.A little different. And often exactly what people didn’t realise they needed.

For 60 minutes there is nowhere to be, nothing to achieve and nothing expected of you.

Just the gentle support of a silk hammock, soothing sound vibrations and space to simply
Rest • Float • Listen

Today marks the first day of winter, a season that Traditional Chinese Medicine invites us to experience not as something to push through, but as something to honour.

In a world that celebrates constant productivity, winter gently reminds us that nature doesn’t bloom all year round.

The trees slow.
The days shorten.
The earth rests.

And perhaps we are meant to as well.

In TCM, winter is associated with the Water element a season of reflection, restoration and conserving energy. It is a time to move a little slower, sleep a little longer, nourish ourselves more deeply and listen to what is happening beneath the surface.

Just as seeds quietly gather strength beneath the soil, not all growth is visible.

So if you’ve been feeling called to retreat, rest, simplify or turn inward, perhaps your body is responding exactly as nature intended.

May this season offer permission to soften your pace, protect your energy and trust that there is wisdom in stillness.

Winter is not a pause on life.

It is part of the cycle.

Therapy Translated

The “Window of Tolerance” is the space where our nervous system feels able to cope with life.

Inside this window, we’re generally able to
• think clearly
• manage emotions
• problem solve
• stay connected
• respond instead of react

But when stress, overwhelm, fear, sensory overload, exhaustion or life pressures become too much, we can move outside that window.

Some people move into
🔥 hyperarousal
(anxiety, panic, anger, overwhelm)

Others move into
🧊 hypoarousal
(shutdown, numbness, withdrawal, disconnection)

And sometimes we move between both.

What’s important to understand is that this isn’t weakness.
It’s nervous capacity.

We all have limits.
And we all deserve support when life feels bigger than our capacity to hold it.
