Winter is coming! ❄️ So here’s a quick reminder of some of the bulk billed services available here at Absolute Health & Skin Clinic.

Need to see a GP? Health Care Card holders receive discounted rates, and our bulk billing options include:

✅ Patients over 65 with a current Aged Pension Card can be bulk billed.
✅ Children under 16 are bulk billed with any of our GPs.

Our Flu Clinics are currently running! These are short appointments designed so you can pop in, get your flu shot sorted, and get back to your day. Flu Clinic bookings are made over the phone, so please give our team a call to secure your spot.

✅ Flu shots are free for all Queenslanders aged 6 months and over.
✅ A nasal spray option is available for kids aged 2 to 5 years old (yay, no needles!).
✅ You may also be eligible for free RSV protection if you are over 75, or a First Nations person aged 60+.

Getting your flu shot this year? You may also be eligible for FREE RSV protection.

You may have heard more people talking about RSV recently and wondered what it actually is.

RSV stands for Respiratory Syncytial Virus. It is a highly contagious virus that affects the airways and lungs and spreads easily through coughing, sneezing and contact with contaminated surfaces.

For many people it can feel like a bad cold, with symptoms such as:

✔ Cough
✔ Runny nose
✔ Fever
✔ Wheezing or breathing difficulties

However, RSV can sometimes lead to more serious illness including bronchitis, bronchiolitis and pneumonia.

While babies and young children are commonly affected, older adults can also become very unwell from RSV.

And that is why free RSV immunisation is recommended for:

✔ People aged 75 years and older
✔ Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 60 years and older

The RSV vaccine is separate to your flu shot (which is also free at our clinic), however it can be given at the same time.

Need to see a doctor quickly? We have same-day appointments available this week, with both male and female GPs available.

If you would prefer to see a female GP, Dr Dinusha is available throughout the week, and you can see Dr Bhumika on Thursday and Friday. Dr Maleeha has appointments next week, and please book ahead if you would like to see Dr Dilini.

Our male GPs including Dr Ceasar Torres, Dr Mahesh, Dr Amila and Dr Dilan also have availablility across the week, giving you plenty of options to find a doctor and appointment time that suits.
