Story time went big this week ๐๐๐ฆ
For National Simultaneous Storytime 2026, millions of kids across Australia all read Luna Roo together at the same time!
This yearโs book, Luna Roo, is a fun and energetic underdog story that brought heaps of movement, laughs and excitement into our sessions this week.
We loved using this book to support speech, language and early literacy skills in a way that felt playful, engaging and connected โค๏ธ
Here are a few ways weโd use Luna Roo in speech pathology sessions:
Speech sounds: Practising โlโ and โrโ words (Luna, roo, run, roar, really, roll etc.) through repetition and play.
Language: Retelling the story, putting events in order, making predictions and talking about the characters and actions.
Early literacy: Rhyming, beginning sounds, syllables and listening out for repeated words or phrases.
