Two in three Australian men wait too long to see a GP when something changes with their health.

This Men’s Health Week, we’re supporting the “101 Reasons to See Your GP” campaign, which highlights the everyday reasons to check in on your health sooner rather than later.

Because a lot of the time it’s not one big moment that makes you think “I should book in”… it’s those smaller changes that are easy to brush past (I’ve been tired… it’ll pass / I’ll get to it later / it’s probably nothing).

The reality is, those “small” things are often exactly the reason to check in.

So this week is just a gentle reminder not to wait until it feels urgent. It's okay to ask for help, check in on those around you, and remember it's okay not to be okay.

💙 Infant Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 💙

A baby’s emotional well-being begins from the very first moments of life.

This year’s theme is “Attunement”, the ability to notice, understand, and respond to a baby’s needs with care and connection.

From a comforting cuddle, responding to cries, sharing a smile, or simply being present, these everyday moments help babies feel safe, secure, and supported as they grow.

The early years shape so much of a child’s emotional development, but we also know parenting can come with moments of uncertainty, exhaustion, and overwhelm.

Supporting little ones also means supporting the parents and caregivers around them.

At Amara Wellness and Psychology, we’re always here to support parents and caregivers through the emotional ups and downs of the early years, offering a safe, compassionate space to feel heard, supported, and less alone in the stress that can come with caring for a little one.

Have you noticed your child becoming more withdrawn, anxious, emotional, or struggling at school lately?

Sometimes children and teens don't have the words to explain what they're feeling, but their behaviour can be the first sign that they're finding things difficult.

At Amara Wellness & Psychology, we provide evidence-based therapy for children and adolescents experiencing anxiety, low mood, emotional regulation difficulties, friendship challenges, school-related stress, self-esteem concerns, and more.

Our goal is to create a safe, supportive space where young people can build that confidence, develop coping skills, and feel understood.

No waitlist.

You don't need to wait until things feel unmanageable to reach out for support.

Cassandra Mircev (Cassy) is a caring registered psychologist at our practice, who provides a safe space for children (8+), adults and couples. She works alongside her clients to help them feel heard, understood, and supported.

She works with a range of concerns, including ADHD, anxiety, panic disorders, social anxiety, phobias, depression, relationship challenges, maternal health, life transitions, burnout, workplace issues, chronic pain/injuries, and PTSD & trauma.

Her approach is person-centred, integrating evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She also works through a trauma-focused and neuroaffirming lens, tailoring support to each individual’s unique needs.
