Thank you to Kelly Sound Bath | Sound Healing | Reiki | Wellness Studio Melbourne and everyone who joined our Floating Sound Session today 💕
I loved sharing the space and the sounds with you all!

We had a few people who were new to aerial yoga today and it’s such a pleasure to introduce people to this practice in such an immersive and gentle way.
I loved how these two quite different practices of sound meditation and aerial yoga can work together so and enhance each other so beautifully.

Our next workshop will be on Sunday October 25 3-4.30pm and that will be the last one for the year. Head to my bio for bookings and more information.

My heart goes out to the people of Nepal and Tibet after seeing the news of the flash floods and earthquakes.
We look to these cultures for practices that help us attain peace of mind, and they contribute so little to global climate change yet feel the effects so harshly.

I am donating a portion of the proceeds from the upcoming Floating Sound Session to the Nepalese PM disaster relief fund, and I’ll share that link (along with some other recommendations organizations) in my stories if you feel inspired to do the same.

Kelly Sound Bath | Sound Healing | Reiki | Wellness Studio Melbourne sources many of her instruments directly from a family run business in Nepal and visits regularly on her retreats. Her local friends are based in Kathmandu out of the danger zone, and we looked to them for recommendations on where to best make a donation.

This has been such a sad week, sending 💗 to you all.

Thank you Audrey Ng A u d r e y L N g for your wonderful contribution to my book Eight Limbs of Aerial Yoga: Adapting Practice for Accessibility, Neurodiversity and Physical Support!

Audrey is the director and principal Physiotherapist at Performance Pilates®️ & Physio - but she’s also a Polestar Pilates Principal Educator, Yin, Vinyasa, Mediation and Antigravity Aerial Yoga instructor!!

I loved Audrey’s unit in my Creative Body Flow Aerial Yoga Therapeutics Teacher Training training, where she explained her graded and systematic approach to using the aerial hammock in a rehabilitation focused Pilates setting.

There are a lot of claims made about the benefits of aerial yoga, and it was really important to me to back up my own opinions with an evidence base and Audrey generously shared relevant published research papers, as well as her own personal and teaching experience and helped me interpret the information when I had questions. This was especially helpful in the chapters on inversion benefits and cautions, chronic pain and hyper mobility.

I’ve already got great feedback from readers, especially on the hyper mobility chapter - and I really appreciate Audrey’s help in providing a scientific foundation to what I had already observed in my classes and my own practice.

Audrey is based in Leederville Western Australia and I would highly recommend training with her if you ever get the chance!!

You’re invited to my book launch!
Eight Limbs of Aerial Yoga: Adapting Practice for Accessibility, Neurodiversity and Physical Support has been out for a while. But what with shipping delays, closing the studio for a month and various other life things, the timing wasn’t aligning for a proper live launch party - but that time has come!!

Join me and Rane Bowen for a chill and cosy book event, there will be tea, there will snacks! There will be a reading, Q&A, time to talk about the book and time to talk to each other!
I’ll also have copies of my book for sale and signing (thanks to everyone who has been asking about that, it’s so nice to know people are excited to buy my book).
Head to the link in bio to RSVP and scroll through to read some of the nice things people are saying about my book - thank you amy wheeler yoga Nina Zolotow and Dr Lauren Tober | Clinical Psychologist, Yoga Teacher + Author 💗

This episode we are speaking with Moira Gordon. Moira is a Director at the Yoga for Good (YFG), a Yoga Teacher, and runs Workshops that combine Yoga and Art to find your purpose, yARToga.

YFG supports yoga in the community with small grants for projects from the heart and innovation to bring the benefits of Yoga to those in need.

Many of Yoga for Good’s grant recipients focus on trauma informed practice, and making yoga more accessible to marginalised communities and Moira has many helpful suggestions for writing a successful grant proposal.
It’s a great conversation with lots of useful information and we hope you enjoy listening!

Join me (Jo Jo Stewart ) and Meg and Misty from Ocean Air Yoga in Bali next Winter 2027!

Float in the soft cocoon of the aerial hammock, relax with a traditional Balinese massage, feast on fabulous and healthy meals, start your day with morning meditation, unwind with restorative yoga, soak in the pool and stroll through a rice paddy at sunset.

‘Jo ran an amazing workshop that was physically enriching, spiritually nourishing and uplifting all at the same time! The planning was super smooth and communications were clear and sharp. I had been on many retreats before and would recommend this in a heartbeat!!!’
Annie Yim

There will be multiple aerial classes each day as well as gentle mat based yoga and Pilates sessions, plus morning meditation. We’ll be staying at Bali Floating Leaf Lux Retreat which is a beautiful Balinese owned venue who focus on sustainability and celebrating Balinese culture and community.
The staff are so kind and nurturing and also cook incredible food, growing much of the produce in their own permaculture garden.

There will be aerial yoga for all levels from brand new beginners to teachers and experienced practitioners, including longer workshop sessions. The aerial classes will have a maximum of 12 participants with an extra teacher assisting. This retreat is body positive, LGBTQIA+ and neurodiversity friendly - we’re all about supporting everyone to have their most enjoyable, relaxing and fulfilling experience possible.
