Doctors Health NT

Doctors Health NT Supporting Doctors & medical students working in the Northern Territory with their health and wellbeing.

18/06/2026

A single doctor can care for thousands of patients over their career - the impact of supporting them reaches deep into our communities.

When doctors have access to confidential healthcare, Telehealth support, after-hours care and trusted advice, they are better equipped to care for us.

That's why Doctors' Health NT exists.

Before June 30, your donation helps expand access to care for doctors and medical students across SA and the NT.

Every doctor encourages patients to seek help early.

But who supports the doctor?

Doctors' Health SA provides confidential support, telehealth appointments, a 24/7 advisory line and outreach services for doctors and medical students across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

Your donation doesn't disappear into administration. It helps us reach more doctors, more often, in more places.

From Adelaide consulting rooms to some of the most remote communities in Australia.

Before 30 June, consider becoming one of our donors. It's a practical investment in the health of the profession.

This is Dr Beckoff, Dr Ponte, Dr Dargaville, Dr Mencel, Dr Boylan and Dr Benson.

They're doctors, so we can’t show you their faces.

What we can show you is some of medicine’s "socksiest", from the ankles down!

We’re ready for Crazy Socks 4 Docs Day today - help us spread the word to look after the people who look after everyone else.

When things go wrong for doctors – what happens next?

Complaints, adverse events and notifications are part of medical practice. They can bring distress, doubt and uncertainty about what to do next.

If you’ve seen this happen, or wondered how you’d handle it, this one hour Q&A session will help. You’ll feel more prepared, understand what to expect, and know where to turn.

Led by doctors with recognised expertise in doctors’ health; Dr Margaret Kay (Doctors' Health Alliance), Dr Kathryn Hutt (Doctors' Health NSW) and Professor Helen Wilcox (Doctors Health Advisory Service Western Australia - dhaswa) they’ll cover:

• what it feels like in the moment and how to get through it
• how complaints and mandatory notifications work, including key differences in WA
• how to support a colleague and where to get help.

Dr Jill Benson is coming to Nhulunbuy in March 2026!

We know that geographical isolation can be one barrier that prevents rural and remote doctors from accessing independent medical care. So we are addressing this by providing an Outreach GP visit to Nhulunbuy next month.

This is a way for doctors to access medical care for themselves from an experienced GP who is pleased to be able to offer their services to their colleagues.

This is a grant-funded, private medical consultation. It is an opportunity to confidentially discuss any concerns you may have in a private setting.

The consultations will be conducted by Dr Jillian Benson in the outpatient’s area of the Gove District Hospitalon Saturday 14 & Sunday 15 March 2026.

For further information email Program Manager, Megan Galpin at [email protected].
