Tiny splint, big difference👆

These custom-made mallet splints are used for all sorts of fingertip injuries including crush injuries, distal phalanx fractures, mallet/terminal extensor injuries, nail bed repairs and some fingertip amputations.
We heat, mould and trim the thermoplastic by hand to get a snug fit and smooth finish because when you’re wearing a splint 24/7, comfort matters!🙌

Dynamic wrist supination splint
This man fell off the back of a ute and broke his wrist. He was put in a plaster cast for 8 weeks and referred to us with almost no movement into extension or supination (palm up).
We worked together with exercise and splinting over a number of months to carefully stretch his movement to a functional range.
In this video you can see he has achieved about 70-80 degrees of supination! 👏🙌

Meet Mikaela

Mikaela graduated from Flinders University with a double degree in a Bachelor of Health Sciences (Principles of OT) and Master of Occupational Therapy. Since graduating, Mikaela has worked in the private sector, including both the community setting and subacute hospital setting. Recently, Mikaela worked at Griffith Rehabilitation Hospital (GRH) for a number of years which has given her valuable experiences in the assessment and treatment of hospital-related injuries. Mikaela is an Associate member of the Australian Hand Therapy Association (AHTA).
She enjoys working with individuals to return to meaningful activities and achieve their goals.
Mikaela will be joining us at the end of this month🙌✋

Four weeks post-op and already smashing expectations 👏🤩
After a fingertip crush amputation, this patient underwent a cross finger flap—and the results speak for themselves. Incredible movement, great scar healing, and sensation nearly back to normal💪
