🚨 Opening Hours - Friday 31 July 🚨

Nowra Medicare Urgent Care Clinic will be closed from 3:00pm today due to a Doctor shortage.

We will open and be available from 8:00am to 3:00pm for urgent, non-life-threatening medical care - no appointment needed.

For any life-threatening emergencies, please call 000 or attend your nearest Emergency Department.

Normal opening hours will continue from Saturday 1 August 2026.

⏱️ Not everyone is seen in order of arrival.

Our doctors and nurses assess each patient and prioritise care based on clinical need. This means someone who arrives after you may be seen first if their condition is more urgent.

Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work to provide safe, timely care to everyone who walks through our doors.

If it's not urgent, your regular GP is often the best place for ongoing care and routine health concerns.

Weekends are often our busiest times 🏥

Did you know that weekends are typically some of the busiest days at Urgent Care?

With many GP clinics closed or operating reduced hours, more people turn to Urgent Care for medical attention when they need help.

Our team is working hard behind the scenes to care for every patient who walks through our doors — from assessing injuries and illnesses to providing urgent treatment and care.

We understand waiting can be frustrating, especially when you’re feeling unwell. Please know that every patient is being assessed based on the urgency of their condition, not simply the order they arrive.

⏳ Why am I waiting when the waiting room looks empty?

What you see in the waiting room is only a small part of what's happening in our Urgent Care Clinic.

Behind the scenes, our clinical team may be:
🩺 Treating patients in consultation rooms
🩹 Managing wounds and fractures
📸 Reviewing X-rays and test results
💉 Providing treatments and observations
🚑 Arranging hospital transfers when needed

Because every patient has different healthcare needs, wait times can vary throughout the day.

Our priority is providing safe, quality care to every patient who walks through our doors.

🤔 Where do I go for help?

If you have an injury or illness that needs medical attention, there are three questions you can ask yourself before deciding where to go for help.

1️⃣ Is it life-threatening and do I need emergency care?

2️⃣ Is it something a GP or nurse can treat?

3️⃣ Can it wait until I can get an appointment to see my local GP?

✅️ If it’s not an emergency but you can’t wait for a regular appointment with your GP... that’s a case for a Medicare Urgent Care Clinic.
